@swampertex117 dude go back to your pokemon... it's a Florida strain large mouth. The colour is a result of it being in deeper water whereas fish that frequent shallower water have a lighter colour due to exposure to more sunlight.

@VisionXray23 very wrong 2-3 pounders have delicious white tender flaky meat and is very good cut into chunks and deep fried, its very similar to snook actually, snook is a little better.

man i have bad luck haha, once when i was out with my friends i hooked a bass that i swear could of been the first 20 pound bass out of texas. i fought it for 10 minutes on 12 pound mono then it jumped up right in front of the net and the line snapped. i wish i could go back in time on that one. that fish was no doubt at least 18 pounds ive caught bass up to 14 pounds and the one i lost dwarfed it. great job. tight lines to you

@NJBurch yeah the record would be 25.1 it was dottie(the name of the fish) this fish already has two of the top ten catches ever one at 19.8 and 21.2 i think but the third time this same guy caught it the fish was foul hooked so the catch didnt count because of california's fishing laws.

Nice fish. Im from nebraska and all we have is damn farm ponds, where you catch a fish every cast and theyre all 3 pounds and up so it really takes the sport out of it. I wish we had some real lakes where catching a fish like that actually meant somthing.

@rdugge what is the secret to catching 10 pounders? I live in Indiana and the biggest that I have caught is 8.8 and that's not bad for our state. Were you fishing ledges? Brush piles in deep water? Maybe one day I'll get one.

@heythisisjim So true. I caught an eleven pound bass one time and I made the bad decision to keep it. The taxidermist told me to measure and weigh the fish if I ever catch another trophy bass. No need to take the best genetics out of the water and leave runts behind.
