Case in point: I'm #1 189 (well was - now its 182) in NYC this year and the basketball team hasn't won a championship in over a decade and i literally beat out every single hockey player in a foot race and long distance running

To Bullring 1, Recall the old line :"it takes leather balls to play rugby!" LOL. There are important differences between team sports, like football & rugby, and wrestling, boxing, & track which are individual efforts but can be contested as team sports. I give a lot of credit to Marathon runners. One needs a special quality of endurance, perhaps a little craziness to do that. The other day, at a fast-food restaurant a college swimmer stated that wrestlers were crazy. In our own way, i guess!

Actually it all depends on the coachs i mean my xc coach makes the JV team run 10 miles on our easy day and I know people who do both and some say wrestling is harder and others say xc. It depends on your physical abilities

For your information (to your previous comment) wrestling is freaking hard as at times you need to focus all your weight on few muscles and use that to pivot the other guy around. Unlike the mechanical pummeling of the other guy (and dodging at times), you have to utilize your full body strenght and posses high coordination skills to win.

I wrestled in high school and I can say without any hesitation that Wrestling is NOT GAY. It's a very fucking difficult sport that requires the athletes to be in peak condition and utilize every aspect of human athleticism. It sure as hell doesn't feel gay when some dude has you in a headlock like in this commercial. IT HURTS LIKE SHIT.

The conditioning can be almost inhuman and unlike team sports there's no one to rely on but yourself. The only other sport this tough might be Rugby.

I've wrestled, ran xc, and swam all in highschool and honestly i find it hard to compare the level of conditioning with each other. they're all completely different. I WILL say wrestling is fucking intense and when i get onto that matt my heart beats faster than when i'm up on a swim block. there's something about going one-on-one that gets your adrenaline pumping like no other.

If you want to get sweaty with other dudes and overstress your muscles, wrestling's the sport for you.
