i would honestly say I HATE this temple ALL TOGETHER but the thing i hate the most are the traps the creepiness the music reminds me of Bongo Bongo beating on his drums waiting for u to arrive and the final phase where u have to walk through that maze to find the regular key and boss key i always get lost there and end up in the room where the skulls spin IO HATE THIS PLACE SOO MUCH i skipped it and went straight for spirit temple that one i can tolerate

Seeing this reminds me of how unbelievably great this game was and still is. It brings the same feeling now as it did in 1998 when I first played it. The layout and the atmospere of the temples is unsurpassed to this day, even though Nintendo tried. In my opinion, OOT is their best installment in the series, their true masterpiece, and they have yet to surpass it. I wonder if they would ever accomplish such a thing.

This temple used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid, the music was creepy, the environment, ecspecially the walls, the Zombies, everything. I couldn't be alone while playing this part of the game becuase it was freaky, I had to have somone there with me. They should have put a sign abouv the intrance that said "Welcome to Hell". becuase that is what it seemed like.

OK srsly the 3DS version does not take out the nestalgia. If you've ever even SEEN the 3DS version. Its identical plus it takes out the dumb graphic glitches plus the graphics are 10 million times better. Like srsly its so much better then it was a DECADE ago.

i know some of you will call me a troll, but i honestly think the gameplay in OoT sucks. i didn't play this as a kid (i never would have beat it anyway), but compared with controls today it's horrible. the story is good, i'll give it that, but I'll take skyward sword over this anyday

@MSoltan1992 skyward sword's controls are fine, it's an improvement over twilight princess and certainly better than OoT. in ocarina it sometimes takes me 15 seconds of pressing A just to break a fucking jar, whereas in skyward if you do a vertical slice it breaks easily. if you don't like motion controls that's fine (a lot of people hate the wii for some reason) but don't say the controls are flawed when they aren't

@TronPachioftheDynamo Majora's Mask is MUCH more disturbing than Ocarina of Time, it's practically a psychological horror game lol. Wind Waker wasn't particularly creepy, but then again it wasn't meant to be (though the ReDeads in that game are probably the most disturbing of the whole series). TP wasn't scary, but unnerving, and Zant is probably the one of the best villains of the series (his random actions and screams of varying pitch are pretty disturbing). Haven't played Skyward Sword yet :(

I was about 3 or 4 when this game came out, and I used to watch my dad play it. I could sit and watch him play through the Shadow Temple like it wasn't anything, but the second Kaepora Gaebora showed up at night with its head upside-down and it's eyes all weird, I would start screaming and crying.

When I got older and played through the Shadow Temple, I seriously started to question what made me scared. This is just a creepy temple. :p

@Onaga69 Not really... they made ALOT of changed to design, and relative hardness of the game. In the 3DS version they even 'dumbed' down the Water Temple.. that wasnt really that difficult in the first place. If you actually wanted a real OoT expedience you'd play the N64 version, rather then the 3DS.

I have a question, I am playing Ocarina of time (on 3ds), and I got the lens of truth before I beat the forest temple, and I completely beat the spirit temple before even learning the Nocturne of Shadow. Now when I go to Kakariko village as an adult, it just rains and I go near the fountain and nothing happens. I haven't experienced the fire in kakariko village yet. I attempted to learn nocturne of shadow b4 entering the shadow temple but it didn't work. Can someone please help me?

@Dedrohauf You have to beat the Water temple before going into the Well. This walkthrough is really for the N64 i'm guessing. A cut scene should happen, then you have to go in the well as a kid.

@vaderfan890 you must have a different version of the game. nintendo had to take off some symbols of the first version because it refered to islam or something (im not sure quite what it refers to) and so they replaced the images of the cresent and star

@sinfulblood The mirror shield? You aquire that once you run through the spirit temple again as an adult. Funny thing is nintendo actually had to rework the imaging on the shield due to some muslim controversy or something, i liked the original design better though :p

@SuperGetmoneykid No, the giant's knife breaks easily. The best sword in the game is the Biggoron sword, a few swipes and the enemy is dead. Much better than constantly buying repairs for that rip off sword.
