  • at 20 seconds the ball is still in the hand

  • good basket still ... it is the BUZZER NOT THE CLOCK!

  • it's the buzzer (in most leagues), not the clock. the ball is out of his hands when the buzzer first sounds

  • If it was so close that it had to be stopped in slow mo to be for sure, you cant really blame the reff.

  • where are the fucking full highlights? ive been waiting 2 years

  • thats when you go over to the ref and knock his jaw off

  • i think it should be blamed on the guy runnin the clock how can someone catch take two dribbles turn back and pass and a shot still got off that close to time expiring buzzer should've went off when he passed

  • In some countries that ref would get killed for that

  • @AmazingDarius22 And some contries are complete fuckin retards

  • should've been waved off smh

  • i totally went to united faith a billion years ago. SWEET.

  • You have to remember this isn't College or NBA basketball, they can't review the play. Without watching it in slow motion, you wouldn't be able to tell.

  • I see that as a good shot. The point in which the buzzer went off, the ball has just left his hand. The point at which the video was paused, the clock still reads 0.1 seconds, and is ticking to 0.0.

  • Ref made the right call

  • Looks like some one has no sin and is able to cast the first stone.

  • Thumbs up if you agree that the person who was video taping should have showed the refs so that the word of god could have won

  • @Trescomedytv Then he could have been stabbed multipled times.

  • Tell me how on earth would a high school ref be able to call this? gimme a break. nice shot, was too late, but who cares, it's just a high school game that won't matter in a week.

  • @btsmanman This was a nice shot & it was too late. I dont know if in real time you can determine that, but to say that high school game doesn't matter is a stretch. Tell that to the high school players out there that a game does not matter. Kids have been playing the game their whole lives & to get to the State Championship game is impressive. This game is like winning an NBA title or National Championship in the NCAA; you can't get any higher than this. In high school, this is what you play for

  • when he squared up and jumped the clock was at 0.0 and it was still in his hand. I mean good he made it but he held on to that ball for like 30 minutes.

  • well they couldnt review it cuz they use instant replay do they?

  • Comment removed

  • are you freaking kiddin me.he held on the ball for like 30 years

  • pause at 8 sec ball is in his hands.

  • hahahahahha FAIL :D

  • did the other team cry like bitches after they lost?

  • Great work ref!

You sure have what it takes. :P

  • yeah pause it at 0:08. its still in his hand

  • ahhhhhhh dats some str8 up bs...lol

  • that ref prob woulda been popped if he called it O/T

  • @hodgey151 i know rightttttttttttt hahah

  • This just goes to show.. the better shooting team always will prevail..

  • actually, in NC, its the clock, not the buzzer. its close, but id give it to him.

  • By the clock or the buzzer, still didnt get the ball off in time. That comment was irrelevant.

  • I paused just so I can see john wall. Ahah, john wall is god. jk

  • he was still pullin up after the buzzer rang

  • 'Word of God' vs. 'United Faith'? Wow.

  • garfunkleskater...

you know it should be shouldn't have counted... right?

  • Comment removed

  • pause it at :19 seconds in the video. The clock is at 0.0 and he still has the ball in his hands

  • @ihatebabies7 yesss...john wall had his championship chances taken away from him....he probably wuld have dominated in OT

  • at the :09 second mark

  • this sound is off... it took me a minute to get it but i kept pausin as soon as i heard the buzzer goes off. it goes off wen the clock has .2 seconds left. everyone else do it and ul see too. gr8 shot on time won them the championship

  • Perfect example of the ref's decision being influenced by the crowd's excitement!.... Atleast John Wall & C.J. Leslie are both gonna be lottery picks when their time comes & the people from the other school are gonna be working long, hard office jobs in cubicles.... Which is better?-lol

  • @dudewat212

and where will you be working?

  • @BasketballStud99 Haha, hopefully in a personal office of my own some day! I have a lot of options: Business Managing, Political office, Law, Coaching College or Pro Basketball, and hopefully becoming a GM/Owner of an NBA team.

  • @BasketballStud99 Also, you may have misunderstood my first comment. I was in no way trying to be disrespectful to those who work in office jobs, I was just saying that John Wall & C.J. Leslie shouldn't be too upset & should let the guys on the other team have their moment to shine, because both Wall & Leslie will have many more chances to shine once they are in the NBA, but for the other team that won, this may have been there last organized basketball game ever.

  • yeah but let's be fair, heat of the moment and all..

  • This is obviously is a missed call, but it's highschool basketball and the refs have no instant replay. So if its close they prbly won't reverse it.

  • tht sucks for the other team......

  • Damnnn John wall was mad

  • Common sense, there's 2.7 seconds left on the clock, the ball is inbounded, the player who received the pass dribbles twice, jumps and passes, and a shot is taken. A lot has happened in 2.7 seconds, and it was a very close call but it shouldn't have counted. You'd think in a State Championship game it would be televised and you could go to some kind of replay. oh well

  • that is nearly impossible for a ref to decide - even professional refs would have difficulty (although they can review it on camera). High school refs don't have that option - i wouldn't blame the refs.

  • fuckin gay.

  • i fill if word of gods had all this talent the game should of never been this close in the first place.the refs made a mistake but at the same time, if everyone wants word of gods to win,ask this question why was the game so close

  • The NFHS rule is: If there's a light behind the basket, you judge the shot's release by the light. If not (and there's no light here), it's judged by the horn. If the officials are sure the shot was late, the basket doesn't count. If there's ANY doubt whatsoever whether the buzzer/light or release was first, by rule, the shot counts.

  • should have been a tie or overtime

  • the refs were retarted!

  • its sounds like the buzzer went off before the ball was out also. listen closely.

  • corrymac you are a fucking retard. so if in the 4 th quarter the clock is at 0:00 and the game is still going then when does it end?

  • oh, well im not positive about that, however i personally think the buzzer is a reminder and the clock really means weather the game is done

  • True but a ref cant watch the clock and the player at the same time so we have to watch the player and listen for the horn which while this guy got it wrong in real time it is not as easy as it looks with no replay.

  • yes thats true also, however in pro and college they look at replays

but here is whatever the ref says

  • Hey bud, your point is moot. First of all, it is when the clock hits zeroes, not when the buzzer sounds, although they are simultaneous. And also, your point is moot because the ball was still in his hand when the buzzer sounded. Therefore, either way, you are wrong. Good effort though.

  • ok well either way the buzzer sounds before he releases the ball

  • @Scottiemack14 High School refs go by the buzzer not the clock.

  • are you really this dumb or are you a fan of this team? ,.. I cannot debate something like this with someone like you ... you not smart ... the game ends when the BUZZER SOUNDS ... can you read

  • High school rules know provide for replay on the last shot. only playoff games

  • That's a great call, actually.

  • if you notice the guy guarding the inbounds pass hit it too so the time should've gone out earlier

  • i do agree the shot shouldnt of counted.. but i think they messed up the clock on the inbounds it seems like 4 seconds went off before the shot

  • its neither the ref fault or the clocks fault if john wall just would have stayed on his man that wouldnt have been open.

  • not to mention he dribbled it off his foot to give them the ball in the first place

  • @nick9520chiefs yeah ur right if he never dribbles it off his foot that never happens

  • that ref apparently shouldnt be calling games if he cant get it right the time was clearyly out when he shot, cmon some one buy some classes for that fucker for x mas

  • good cal lwhy ruin the teams upset victory....b/c if there was overtime john wall nd lesile would have turn the fire on nd ended the game with authority

  • cmon it was a fair call if i was a ref i wouldve jus allowed it i mean he was like .01 seconds late

  • you're an idiot, the rules are the rules, why not give someone 4 points instead of 3 sometimes if they need it to win

  • U would intentionally rig the game. That ref made a mistake, but u knowingly don't make the call u r paid to make. I would do my job to the best, a mistake is one thing, but if I know he got it off late... I would soil their celebration without a care, so long as i get paid.

  • obviously zack is the the idoit cause he cant read comments right lol dumb ass white boy

  • who cares?? more than half of you people dont even know the school so why are you acting like you know what call to make? after you go through school to be a ref talk to me then and make the calls. until then shut the hell up

  • complain all you want.. its not up to the clock or the buzzer... its up to the ref...OBVIOUSLY and if he says its good, then its good.. It was a great ending to a great game. Best Basketball game i have ever been too.. would have been nice to have an overtime, but i was satisfied with the "Buzzer Beater" the way it was.

  • still good! Great call

  • ohhhh damn

  • NO BASKET!!

  • close but no shot

  • stupid idiots everybody knows that in highschool ball the refs go by the buzzer not the clock

  • well, the buzzer clearly sounded with the ball in his fingertips, so by clock or buzzer it didn't matter - shot shouldn't have counted.

  • uhh ok but the buzzer is supposed to be synchronized with the clock idiot. its not an extra second till the buzzer

  • it was still in his hands when the buzzer went off. who ever said he got it off in time ur a fucking retard. It was still i nice shot and a very hard call for a highschool ref. SHOULDNT OF COUNTED

  • @garfunkleskater the buzzer went off early

  • @garfunkleskater truth is john wall shouldnt have dribbled the ball off his foot but i see where you're coming from its close.

  • Yes the buzzer did go off while the ball was in his hand, but there was still .1 of a second on the clock. The game is called by the time on the clock not by the buzzer. Good job refs; the losers need to shut up and step their game up next time.

  • yaaaah your dumb

  • still good .. video did not change and the rule did not change ... again, great in the floor call that would have stood if they were allowed to look at the replay ...

  • What a horrible screwjob that was.

  • Bad call...the buzzer clearly went off before the shot.

  • i still think the buzzer sounded before he got his shot off.

  • Yh i think the shot was still wayyy in his hands after the buzzer went off. Shouldnt have counted.

  • At first I thought the shot counted but then I took another good look at it and it shouldent have the shot was in his hands WAYYY after the clock expired

  • no good, overtime.

  • THE BALL IS NOT OUR OF HIS HAND WHEN THE CLOCK RUNS DOWN OR WHEN THE BUZZER GOES OFF. Bad call by the ref. No one can argue the other way. stop the video right when the buzzer goes off. It is still in his finger tips. And he has the ball in his hands when the clock is at 0.

  • The rules just got changed because of this fucking joke of a call you fucking dumbass.

    Rule 2. Section 2. Art. 1

A state association may permit game or replay officials to use a replay monitor during state championship series contests to determine if a try for goal at the expiration of time in the fourth quarter or any overtime period (0:00 on the game clock) should be counted, and if so, determine if it is a two- or a three-point goal.

  • have you ever even played basketball? the video clearly shows the shot should not have counted a whole teams soul may have been ruined by one lousy call this is terrible to watch i know how much work is put in to have such a chance at state contention.

  • what are you arguing??? the ball is out of his hands when the BUZZER goes off ... end of story. Great call. I would love to know your basketball resume. Tell the "whole teams sole" to get over it. They lost!

  • Shutup dude. Your completely retarded.

  • ur a fucken idiot

  • clearly this video is showing why its a bad call...thats why it stops the video when its double zero on the clock and ITS STILL IN HIS HANDS...its not decided by some fucking buzzer its decided by the clock dumbshit

  • you are the tool bag we have to put up with in the stands ... there is a rulebook and that rulebook has rules in it and no where in any rulebook does it say that the game is over when the clock hits 0:00 ... no where... you may not like it, but it was and is a great call on the court and is held up in replay over and over

  • yeah, and thats why the balls still in his hands when the buzzer sounds you fucking idiot.

  • wooooooooooooooooow are you slow? learn your basketball bro because when the clock hits 0 that quarter or game is over and if the ball is still in your hands when in the midst of a shot and the clock hits 0 seconds the shot does not count and that's an international rule right there no matter what country you go to the rule will be the same

  • @corrymac your so stupid

"when the game ends, it dosent mean the game ends"

your really stupid and need to learn anything about bball before you come critisizing others

  • when did I say the "when the game ends, it dosent mean the game ends"

I quoted the rules book -- the game ends at the sound of the buzzer" not when it hits 0:00 .. there are tenths of a second left when the clock hits 0:00 ... meaning there is still time left in the game ...

  • lol ur a dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • nice looking shot no doubt, but the ref did nothing wrong.

  • 0:09 buzzer sounded when the ball was in his hands shot should not have counted! So quit actin like kids and arguin over stuff none of you know anythin about.

  • corrymac is a cocksucker.

  • Even though it should not have count, that was a big time shot for a highschool kid in a championship game!

  • wow refs stunk

  • WOW that should have been an obvious call. He didnt even beat the buzzer. HE definately didnt beat double-zero's

  • How could they count that? Wooooooooow.

  • how old are you 12? pause the video before he releases the ball and you can hear the buzzer going off

  • youre an idiot

  • do u play for the other team or somethin you have to be a dumbass if you think that shot was good

  • wow dumb nut the rules is not by a sound created by humans (which humans arent perfect) it is based on when time is over so the was a horrible call and u shouldnt even say thats a good call i mean have sportsmanship even over the internet

  • Rule 5, Section 6 Art. 2 of the NFHS Basketball rules:

Each quarter or extra period ends when the signal sounds indicating time has expired.

That's the official rule. If you are disputing that the basket should not count because the zeros showed before the shot was off, you do not know the rule.

That is why it is called a buzzer beater. Think about it logically. The refs are not looking at the clock when the ball is live. They are listening for the "signal sounds" or buzzer.

  • he right

  • tu shea!!

  • however, the buzzer sounds when the clock reads double zeroes...

    sooooooooooooooooo yeah. ur dumb

  • what a fucking moron. the buzzer doesnt sound until double zeros. its on a timer. therefor you have no idea what youre talking about. Great shot.. they didnt deserve to win!

    Horrible call!

  • wow they aint win 4 shit!

  • hahahahaha i heard miller was playing great the whole game......what's that WOG team doing on deffense???

  • thats so fuckin stupid, use instant replay, win in the books but they know good and well they didn't truely win. but good shot..

  • if you look you see that the clock is on zero before he had even let go of the ball

  • what was that. nice shot though

  • YESWECANNOT you must of been one lame ref. Actuly one badass one.

  • you kinda can

The game winning shot was after the buzzer, if the ref gets it right, you go to overtime

  • what the hell is wall doing while miller is hitting the game winner? he's standing behind him, boneheaded mistake...

  • Well despite what happen we all kno that if it was john wall that hit the shot it would be a totally different headline...if john hit the shot the headline would been...john wall hits state championship buzzer beater..

  • Comment removed

  • it was close but after looking at it in slow motion he didnt get it off in time

  • tht looks real close

  • they pause the video dude!

and its CLEARLY in his hands when it is over

  • you can hear the buzzer before the clock is even at zero after a few times i stopped it with .2 seconds left and the buzzer was going off

  • if you pause the video right at nine seconds then you can start to hear the buzzer and the ball is still in his hand

wall got his ring stolen from him

  • U dumbshits it did count and that is why it's a bad call.

  • fucking retards

if the ball is still in his hands when the buzzer goes off it doesnt count

so it was a good call

    u fucks

  • how can you say refs ruined it? it was a bang bang play and they have no replay in high school

  • i was there shot should not have counted it was in his hand when buzzer sounded

  • how did he ruin it? he made the right call

  • They counted it?

  • what? no, it didn't count, and it shouldn't have counted. which is why i was saying that saying "ref ruins finale" is completely false, considering he made the right call.

  • No it was 53 53 and then he made the shot silly. That means he coundted it.

  • Yes it did count, Word of God lost the game 56-53. Why? Because the refs counted the basket even though it wasn't released before time expired. Where does the blame fall? The refs. Dumbass.

  • chill the fuck out, dude. i just didnt know. the vid didnt make it clear that the refs counted it. you couldve just informed me of what happened instead of calling me a dumbass.

  • dumbass

  • seriously how is this even a lasting conversation...........shot shouldnt have counted but it did n united faith wins discussion over

  • all u people who think that the game ends on the buzer and the shot counts watch and listen..the buzzer was going off while the ball was in his hands, either way it should be no good

  • High School refs don't have the benefit of instant replay. He hit an amazing shot. If the white team had played just a little bit better they would have won.

  • acballa, watch ever other video of this shot.. its obvious he gets it off on time.. the 0.0 doesn't mean anything. its the buzzer and the light on the backboard. shot is good get over yourself

  • are you high deerpond? that makes no sense

  • im pretty sure h.s. bb ends on buzzer, not clock.

    so, the shot is good.

  • douche...the clock will be tied in with the buzzer so should have went off when the clock hit 0.0 sound must be off on the vid because that are interconnected...so the shot should not be good.

  • panthersgreat...what in the hell like so seriouse what in the hell no were in the hell no what in the hell was you watching. You must be talking bout another sport.

  • dude get a life

  • that doesnt make any sense.

then the clock in the last quarter should be set a second longer.

the team plays for the amount of time on the clock.

theres no extra invisible seconds that it takes for the sound to go.

  • hah thank you...u dont play invisible seconds haha

  • haha it defintly ends on the clock..and if u listen closely the buzzer is goin off while the ball is in his hands..so either way the shot shouldnt of counted

  • i think a lot of the baggings and negative comments are emerging because they think that the ref did not award the shot and everyone here is saying how he made the wrong decision. Hence people r saying the ball was still in his hand etc. The ref actually did stuff up cos he gave them the basket. They did not make it in time yet were awarded it.

  • Are you trying to talk illterately?

Your comment makes no sense what-so-ever.

  • GOD DAMM REFS!!!!
