A lot has happened in 2.7 seconds, and it was a very close call but it shouldn't have counted. You'd think in a State Championship game it would be televised and you could go to some kind of replay. oh well

THE BALL IS NOT OUR OF HIS HAND WHEN THE CLOCK RUNS DOWN OR WHEN THE BUZZER GOES OFF. Bad call by the ref. No one can argue the other way. stop the video right when the buzzer goes off. It is still in his finger tips. And he has the ball in his hands when the clock is at 0.

The rules just got changed because of this fucking joke of a call you fucking dumbass.
Rule 2. Section 2. Art. 1
A state association may permit game or replay officials to use a replay monitor during state championship series contests to determine if a try for goal at the expiration of time in the fourth quarter or any overtime period (0:00 on the game clock) should be counted, and if so, determine if it is a two- or a three-point goal.

wow dumb nut the rules is not by a sound created by humans (which humans arent perfect) it is based on when time is over so the was a horrible call and u shouldnt even say thats a good call i mean have sportsmanship even over the internet

Rule 5, Section 6 Art. 2 of the NFHS Basketball rules:
Each quarter or extra period ends when the signal sounds indicating time has expired.
That's the official rule. If you are disputing that the basket should not count because the zeros showed before the shot was off, you do not know the rule.
That is why it is called a buzzer beater. Think about it logically. The refs are not looking at the clock when the ball is live. They are listening for the "signal sounds" or buzzer.

Yes it did count, Word of God lost the game 56-53. Why? Because the refs counted the basket even though it wasn't released before time expired. Where does the blame fall? The refs. Dumbass.

that doesnt make any sense.
then the clock in the last quarter should be set a second longer.
the team plays for the amount of time on the clock.
theres no extra invisible seconds that it takes for the sound to go.

i think a lot of the baggings and negative comments are emerging because they think that the ref did not award the shot and everyone here is saying how he made the wrong decision. Hence people r saying the ball was still in his hand etc. The ref actually did stuff up cos he gave them the basket. They did not make it in time yet were awarded it.
