This is so much bullshit. I'm highly conditioned yet I can't even land a fucking btwist yet because of the technique. This is why tricking is stupid. Technique is more important.
hey, so i have a pull up bar that has a regular bar, wide bar, and parallel bar. anyone have any good suggestions for work out routines that i can do maybe once a day to help with freerunning and parkour?
Nice I'm glad he makes these videos, especially this one! I've told people constantly that conditioning is the basis for everything. I freerun on my extra time after martial arts but when I try to find other people to freerun with here, I only find they do it without ever exercising...i'm not gonna freerun with people who are just gonna get hurt because they don't want to exercise.
strong ankles, legs and good flexability are a must have, i dont recommend tricking to anyone who does not have those things, your ankles will fail on you trust me haha and your muscles and joints will fail also lol so start conditioning with those things in mind and you will not fail :)
I've been combining weights and free running and been making good progress! (i also lafed when u said "backyard tricksters" cuz thats sumtyms where i do mine :-D)
BTW another Dogen's wideo, tells you how to condition without any equipment, so called "Isometricks". The idea is of strenghtening the muscles trough forcing them to pull (/pull) the hardest they can, aganist an immovable force.
@xxblackskyxx you know how some kids dont actually play basketball for their school or on a team but they sometimes just casually play a pickup game with their friends at the park. well he means u cant just every once in a while decide to trick, without a conditioned body and expect to not get hurt and make progress.
OK, so I must ask..... to you Parkour guys really think you're martial artists? If so, please define the word martial for me. I do not mean to offend any of you, but I am legitimately curious about it. Maybe I just have a misconception here. Help me out.
hmm... kinda random, and vague question. that'd depend on individuals b/c one person will prob say yes, another say no, and each will hav their own reasons.
yes: b/c of the training in terms of kicking involved in some moves, backflips and springs just like in some fights or watever.
no: not trained to fight, tho using some concepts/aspects for cool-looking moves.
Thanks.....excellent answer. I was more under the impression that you guys do it for fun/fitness reasons. Careful with that flipping in a fight thing man, don't get yourself hurt....once you leave contact with a stationary object you loose your "power". Obviously not the ability to move, but power...... You guys keep up the fun, I enjoy watching some of your tricks. Again, stay safe....
@trainingninja nah i'm just messing with ya but isnt it though? doesnt matter though wise words from Dogen...Trick and trick leads to...big owies...my problem about this is what routine i should follow for conditioning...
hella true. went out for a couple of months on a cruise, wen i came back i tried a round off back tuck, i hesitated and i fell and dislocated my elbow. i could do it before, but yeah since i didnt condition for a while, i ended up bad =/.
Strenght training or even bulking is good conditioning. Sit ups and the sort don't really affect anything more than endurance in the body and running doesn tcondition what you need in tricking.

@theendlesssuffering i will hve to agree
i mean wtf i train capoeira for 3 years and in those years i add footall
i sometimes lift
and i cycle but im so tall
tha i can barely land a fucking b twist
Angelbikost 4 months ago
@theendlesssuffering Conditioning contains two parts: Physical AND mental. The mental part is technique.
123Steaky 3 months ago
@theendlesssuffering yes technique is more important. But some people get the technique yet they are way too weak to land the move nicely. =/

what does it mean to ''casually'' trick?
xxblackskyxx 3 years ago
I think it's mean that you do the trick whit no power, speed etc. but I can be wrong.
Sorry for my english.

Ok thanx.i wish this tutorial told us how to condition, instead of just telling us the effects of conditioning.

There are tons of this stuff on the internet.
BTW another Dogen's wideo, tells you how to condition without any equipment, so called "Isometricks". The idea is of strenghtening the muscles trough forcing them to pull (/pull) the hardest they can, aganist an immovable force.
Check that video out, and have a nice day!

Parkour is not a martial art. And of course flipping is not parkour. And anyone to use a flip in a fight sucks.

dont u watch jackie chan
THEoreticalReason 4 years ago
Parkour is similiar to martial arts because its a discipline. It can be applied to help yourself or others in emergency situations.
Peace.
tiarnan17 4 years ago
Not going to argue with you about it bro, look up the word Martial though.......
whynotmoo 4 years ago
Tho for those not wanting to look up the word.
Martial: \'mär-shəl\
1 : of, relating to, or suited for war or a warrior
2 : relating to an army or to military life
3 : experienced in or inclined to war
And now you know.
