So, what does this thing run in the 1/4 and how much power does it make? That seems a bit slow for 16 psi in a .57 trim. Does it still need tuned?

@ZX2Fast Havent taken it to a qt mile track. it put down 302 and 298tq...its a .48 right now thats why.. ball bearing .48 at that..i needed the the .63 to put down more...its choking..

@gradxg boring the block can let you put a lil bit biger pistons...like 0.50 or somthng of that nature..i just rehoned mine an got the blocked decked...new eagle rods..acl bearing non race is a must.. je pistons which suck.. an new rings.. also is a must is arp head studs... an the bottom end is done..ready for boost..

@zx2turbo so basicly the most expensive part is getting the turbo kit itself? i was going to get rid of my zx2 when it goes but now i might change my mind, it has 179,000 miles so it wont last to long

@gradxg i guess so if you put it on a stock motor... (so depressing) but you can get a shit turbo for $120 or da shit turbo for $600-$1000 ...but the most expensive thing is turbo manifold...a good is expensive others always crack...like mine an i hate it!

@gradxg I got 9 maybe 10g's in my motor lol... But i think it takes like 2g's for a built bottom end and thats what it takes to run boost...Pistons and rods

well the only thing keeping me from doing anything to my zx2 is the transmission.. im selling my turbo kit becuase ive been thru 2 trannys.. and i dont slam gears..it just cant handle the power ...one time my waste gate stuck and it boosted about 15 psi and thru some kind of a linkage thru the transmission case lool but im gettin tired of blowing money on shit transmissions all 3 transmissions have sticky feeling gears.. im guessing that is normal on zx2's?

where did you get your transmission? how much hp will it support?

@turboz8826 You can pick up any transmission at a nice junk yard or salvage yard.... around the 300-350 bucks depending on the condition you want it in... How much can it support? have no clue mines supporting 300 so i duno if you going any higher than that...what are you shooting for a straight drag car or wat...cause the drag trans for the zetec is called the MTX-75...hit me back sorry ive taken so long

Sorry for the delay of me not responding... Im currently going to school for auto tech and putting "my knowledge" to good use. I was really busy but now im out for the summer so hit me up for any questions...again I can only give you my opinions and personal experiences on what i have done.....

I hear people talking about compound boost... which to me is nonsense cause i think psi is psi and i dont understand how you boost psi because boost is psi...So i guess i have alot to learn in that area. A supercharger/ turbo is not good in any situtation because it kills the turbo in the top end. The Zetec engine is already a torquey as crap engine so i dont see the point beside being different..and again building a zx2 to run on boost is different so....

@Travide I dont have a supercharger and really know nothing about it. A turbo kit is normally around 2500 to 3500 depending on the quality of the parts. Now building the bottom end to hold the boost is the most important thing of a boosted engine. And that can set you back 5000gs to get the motor done RIGHT. I put to much into mine..but then again.. its my baby and i charish every sec of boost.
