I've been singing this song for over 20 years, I heard it once on an old Sesame Street song record and never forgot it. I now sing it my children and decided to google it to see if I had been singing it right for all these years. (The only one I left out were the arms!) Thanks for this... otherwise I would have had no proof that this song existed.
@Jahmai203 I'm hear for similar reasons..I heard it at my friend's house on an old 45rpm record in the mid 1980s...Did you remember that the eyes were both the same size?? For some reason...I thought they opened up wide. Oh well, great to hear it again anyway!
I remember having the same album back in the seventies. Another song featured in it was "Going for a Ride". That song and skit is also uploaded onto You Tube and I posted four comments on it in the recent past. I would be very interested in what any of you think of my posts!
@Smartboy8877 i had the Sesame Street GOLD album it was on that! i guess it got thrown out but i wish i had it back! this stuff is so much better than listening to Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj or any other modern crap!
It's called acting. The ending is uncomfortable because it's about her feet and women do not like to talk about their feet, unless their feet are extremely petite. Sesame Street taught about life, in addition to numbers and body parts it was about life's nuances -- male, female, black, white, etc.
I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading this. I'm a child of the early/mid '70s. I was the first grandson and first nephew, so I was a little spoiled.
Either my grandmother or aunts bought me a Sesame Street record player with Sesame Street songs. This song, out of all of the volumes I had, stood out and I've sung the first two verses for three decades. I cried when I saw this, happy tears. People, including my sister, though I made this up. Thanks!
I remember another version of this song from the early nineties. It featured Telly looking for forty body parts. He, Bob, Maria, and Uncle Wally sang "I've Got Two", and at the end of the song, they'd found their first twelve. As usual, Bob sang the opening verse about eyes.
This was my FAVORITE Sesame Street song when I was a kid! SS debuted the year I was born so I truly was among the first generation of children to grow up watching it. I LOVED Susan too! Thanks for the post!
Mr. Hooper sang on the recorded version too, which was a rarity...gotta love Mr. H.! (The one with less hair...ISNorden knows what I'm talking about.) :)
Bob can sing, but he has ZERO rhythm. For proof check out the "Gimme Five" video of him Luis, David, and Gordon performing a song playing off of the Floaters "Float-on" song.
I still have the original record of this song .

Ahh. the goof ol days of Sesame street vvhere the adults could sing alone- vvith NO puppets- and it vvould be alrght.
If the did this today, you KNOVV they'd have to have a puppet- in articular a fuzzy, dumb red pronoun-less shovv hog, vvho shall remain nammeless.

You got two noses? Well I would say you only have one but I remember what happpened to Bert when he said that!
I also had this song on a record and remember Big Bird sang the part "I've got two feet".
But I like the tv version better because Bob is a real good singer, esp. how he does, "I've got two eyyyyyes..."

Mr. Hooper sang on the recorded version too, which was a rarity...gotta love Mr. H.! (The one with less hair...ISNorden knows what I'm talking about.) :)
