Can it do full floating too? I like to switch between full floating and a zero point configuration like this. That should be technically possible but I haven't seen it anywhere. There is the tremsetter from Hipshot which works but can not be turned off. And there is the tremol-no which locks it completely. I like to combine the switching of the tremol-no with the action of the tremsetter.
@jasperoosthoek Hello, and thanks for your interest. To answer your question, not really. Simply, it is designed to use the tension bar for the zero point. But its a good idea and we can look into it. Thanks again.
@000terminator Drop tune or use alternate tunings without adjustments. Changing gauge strings - Yes, you will need to check the spring tension if you change string gauge. If you changed from .009 to .011, yes you would need to check the spring tension to make sure you are still going back to zero. If you use heavier gauge strings you will use another spring on the tone block to get the proper adjustment. We recommend changing one string at a time, there is no locking nut.
it seems uncomfortable to do single note vibrato with this. Maybe bcoz of the neutral point between the up and down movement of the vibrato bar. i never saw you did any single note vibrato that's why i'm wondering.
@emgzwset So have you tried the Trem King and say that it feels uncomfortable for this action? I will admit, the TK has a very different feel from a floater. But yes, a single note vibrato can be achieved, just a little different technique.
I think I'm going to get one for my strat, I have a wilkinson on it, it is ok, but this seems to be far better.
I have a question though, I'm having a Nighthawk too, and I'm wondering if it can fit well on it? I've read if you don't use the bar, it stay in tune just like a fixed bridge, so could be a great option.
@eddysideways Not for tunematic style guitars. but a great replacement for the Wilkinson. And yes, when you do not move the bar, it will play like a hardtail allowing bends without going flat, drop tuning, alternate tunings, etc.
the video sez it all. this is by far the best functioning non-locking trem available, no bs. it even comes close to rivaling a locking trem. i've installed 4 trem kings on strats and 1 on a tele.
Hi Sorry for the late reply. The range of the TK with proper installation is an octave down on the low e and a whole step up on the high e. Is that not enough? You do have to move the bar more than a FR. No, the strings don't go slack, but is that a useable option? The TK is very articulate, meaning you can bend down (or up) and find a not and hold it. Hard to do on a FR. It sill NOT flutter like a FR, got me there.
this looks nice and awesome , i just hate FR tuning stability problems , this seems like a nice way to begin using tremolo systems , if i ever have the chance to get one im sure geting this
Is there supposed to only be a small movement on the downward bend possible? The trem arm itself goes against the saddle very early when you push the bar down, you pretty much only yank the bar down a little bit from neutral position before it goes against the saddles? Is the unit faulty somehow, or am i fine? I havent mounted it yet, so im not sure how much movement it will need for a decent range, but it seems very small compared to the free movement of bending up? I hope i dont need to worry
Sorry for the delay. With proper installation, you will have lots of movement. The saddles are set back from the factory. When installed they should be moved forward to the 25 1/2 in intonation point and leave plenty of room to dive. The front of the bridge plate is at the best spot when it is 25 in from the nut. Let me know.
I finally ordered mine from Thomann, got shipped friday, for using on a guitar that im gonna build during next next week:) Probably a Flying V, so i hope this will end up good, i love the design, its a win-win. A tip, for you europeans that want to get ahold of one, order from Thomann instead of the TremKing site, it will be cheaper and easier.
Hi, sorry about the delay. So a locking nut wouldn't make any difference on the TK as far as dive bombing. How much range do you want? On a Peterson tuner, I have put guitars together that go down OVER an octave. Low e going down to d sharp. The difference in the TK is that you have to move the bar further to get there. It just won't flutter. If you take the other spring off, it will not stay in tune.
Yes. What kind of guitar? Strat? If so, a 'pocket rout' is needed for full movement of the TK unit. Please see the routing diagrams on the web site. We do installations. We also sell templates for the rout job as well as the recommended router bits. Give us a call 866 324 6300
awesome, one question though, what pickups were you using in that vid? Looked like alumitones to me but I never got a good look. This trem looks awesome, and seeing as I'm currently pissed at my broken floyd rose, I'm thinking about this one.
Hi . The pickups in the video are Tradition hot rails with a coil tap micro switch for each pickup. Great pickups. IF your guitar with the FR has a top rout, it is very hard to install the TK because it needs a flat place on the top of the body to mount.
Hey! I use the tremking! It works exactly like a fixed bridge! The drone strings don't even de-tune when bending! If I don't tuch the bar the guitar is no different from my normal telecaster! Check out my vids if you like! I have a few demos! This unit has given me everything i have been looking for in a trem and some!
The tremking eats strings!!! I have one on my guitar and after a few days of useing the bar the strings are on a roller on the bridge this is a bend and the strings brake there . please help me and let me know how to fix is problem
I have some questions. Will the TK-3 fit on guitars that have Gibson type bridges (Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece)? Can it do the same thing the other 2 does (like dive & also able to pull back)? I also have a Fender Fat Strat & I want to replace the bridge with a TremKing bridge. The type of bridge I have has six screw holes on top, I noticed the TK-1 only has 2 holes. Will it still fit? One more question. Does the TK keep the strings in tune or should I still get locking tuners?
Sort of.... The bridge plate and saddles are fixed to the body of the guitar. The tone block pivots below the saddle. Unlike the Bigsby, the TK returns to the exact same spot each time.
hi there , would this fit a traditional strat without any problems or modification. ? if so is there a left handed version and were i can order. thank you .
My only concern is how thick a guitar body has to be for the tone block. For an example, an Ibanez SA body is thinner than a regular strat. Will the tone block be sticking out further than the back of the instrument?
How would you compare the tone of the strat with the trem king bridge versus the tone of the strat with the standard bridge? Is finger bending actually easier with the trem king (bridge rollers)? How many whole steps can you dive bomb without enlarging the cavity of the guitar approximately? Thanks.
Reports I get are that the Trem King gives more tone because of the string transfer going directly from saddles to bridge plate to body. There are no Rollers. The saddle pins are fixed. String bends are as on a hard tail guitar. Without routing, probly only a half step or less on the high e string. With routing, 1 1/2 at least and about an octave on the low e and the same for the g string.
Can the Trem King tremolo system fit on any guitar?
I have an old Mastercaster made by Hondo under the name of Fame. It looks like a strat. I am thinking about replacing the old Khaler Flyer tremolo system.
Excellent demo - excellent product. My biggest complaint with non-locking nut trems is having the wound strings not return exactly to pitch. The TremKing seems much better than others but I think I'm still hearing the low A go sharp coming out of the "reverse bounce" demo at 1:10. Is it just my ears or ... ?
one more thing. i think this is a way better design than the supervees floating around ebay because you don't have to put a different nut on your neck or get another neck.
that way a novice guitar builder could definitely install a tremking. im getting one soon.
Hi, i would like to know if you are using an standard nut and if you have locking tuners on that guitar?, Another question, What kind of pickups are you using, they sound incredible!!, your bridge is the best.
hi, question for trem king. Ive just bought a tk1 for a guitar i am building. on floyd roses, you have to have a groove in the guitar body behind the tremolo system. Don I need to do this for Trem King? Please get back to me soon,
Hi Ralph, NO you do not need the top rout behind the unit. Our bridge mounts directly to the body and the movement is from teh tone block, not the bridge plate.
No - is the report I get from users. Even with taking out a bit of wood for the spring cavity, because the bridge plate is fixed to the body, you get great tone and sustain.
Approx 2.84" or 72.28mm. I have not found any matching screw holes. All guitars are a little different. You will have to plug the holes on top most likely.
hi. id like to know the prodecure for changing strings. is it just like the standard strat procedure, as in, through the bottom rout, through the bridge and into the tuners?
also, about how much is needed to be cut for full function?
Yes, you change the strings as on a normal vintage trem. No locking nut, no cutting, etc. Go to the web site and you can see pics of the rout and a diagram of how much needs to be routed.
Change all strings at once,Yes, you can. You can drop tune without re-tuning. I just put together a Tom Anderson for a guy and it was tuned to c,g,d,c,a,e. Sounded cool and worked perfect.
Hey i'm just wanting to know how well the tele trem bridge is with slow pink floyd style bending! i'm seriously considering this product but just want to make sure before i purchase and rout my gat! cheers! so far i'm very impressed!
I think it works great for what you described. Just keep in mind that this is a wholly new design with a slightly different feel and technique. And the TK definitely won't harm the tone of your guitar (but might be guilty of improving it). Thanks for the question and feedback. Cheers to you too.
to Trem King...how does the Trem King hold up in comparisons to the original Fender strat bridges, or a PRS bridge...with respect to the overall impact on the guitar's tone...I know the Trem King stays in tune...
And "flutter is that sound that you get from tapping the end of the bar on a Floyd Rose and letting it vibrate on it's own...like Brad Gillis's Nightranger "cricket sounds"...
The Trem King has a very smooth, very controlled, articulate feel. The bar goes all the way down to the body and the pressure is the same all the way down, it does not get harder like other trems.
I've been selling gtrs since 1980 retail & wholesale. The Trem King is the coolest trem ever. I beat the crap out of them at 3 NAMM shows--stretched strings, bent...it stayed perfectly in tune--even for "country" bends.
You should have a pro install it. It doesn't "flutter" like a Floyd very well. It doesnt have quiet the range of string bending as any Floyd--on the other hand...the gtr doesnt go out of tune if you break a string. I bought one, and I'm having it installed on a handmade gtr.
I'm VERY interested in buying the TK-1 but I have just one question. Why the need to go routing?I've been to the web site and it's a little confusing in the how to install section,It looks as though the routing that already exists is wider than the Trem king routing guide,It also looks as if you could just install the Trem-King without routing at all on my stratocaster(It's a Fender American Special Mahogany HSS Stratocaster)can I get the the dementions of the routing guide provided by trem king?
The standard routing used for strats is not quite roomy enough for the movement of the Trem King's tone block. You can print out the routng diagrams off of the web site. I'm sorry if the diagrams are confusing. We are glad to help you with any questions you might have.
I am really interested in buying the TK-1, but is it possible to install this into my charvel san dimas (it has a strat-style vintage trem at the moment).
If it already has a vintage style in it, then yes youcan install the TK in the Charvel. Let me know what you need. We can do the install for you also.
we are working with Graphtec to make piezos. If you contact Graphtec they can make you some no. We just don't have actual production at this time. Stay Tuned...
cool. two more questions: 1) can you flutter with this system, and 2) how does the range on this thing compare to that of an original floyd rose? (i.e, harmonic squeals, joe satriani/steve vai effects, etc)
I was getting tired of fixing the licensed floyd on my Dean Dime-0-Flame ML to my liking so I replaced it with a revolutionary Fixed Bridge(Floyd like)tremo called a TREM KING. It was more than worth it I'll never go back to a Floyd rose, they are just to much work.
It's not hard. It was designed to retrofit a vintage bridge. However, due to variations of bridges the 2 outside holes may or may not have to be plugged.
THREE MODELS AVAILABLE:
TK1 - for solid body, 3-single coil style guitars
TK2 - for solid body guitars with PU mounted in bridge plate
TK3 (NEW) - for other style solid body and semi-hollow gtrs.
Thanks - and PLEASE send me a PHOTO of your guitar with the Trem King and we'll post it on the site (site to be remodeled).
I First Came upon these things for a Telecaster on eBay about 5-Minutes Ago (from when I'm Writing this)...and I Have a couple Stratocasters, A Couple Telecasters, Some Odd-Shaped Gibsons (1 Explorer, 1 Flying V, and 1 Jackson Professional RR3 Randy Roads V with Floyd Rose Bridge) and I have about 12 other guitars that I'm not even mentioning...
No locking nut. I use GraphTech nuts. Roller nuts - some will work, others won't. I put one on an American Fender with a roller nut and it worked fine. Yes, I can ship to Brasil.
The bridge is fixed to the body. The tone block is held at a balance between the string pressure and the spring pressure. Nothing moves until you move the trem arm...the nut is a Graph Tech nut
my stop tails stay on pitch when strings are bent. if you put a peterson on it, i am sure you could see a slight change in pitch, but not hear it. what kind of guitars do you have with stop tails that you can actually hear a pitch change from bending a string?
What would you like to know about it? Ask me...It is a fixed bridge and saddles, it stays in tune, really. Very smooth. The tone block pivots inside. No locking nut, stay in tune when you break a string.
so, it can't flutter? and no matter what it would require routing, even on a 2 point fender trem?

is there anything you have to reset like spring tension when changeing tunings or string gauge? how easy is it to re string?

If you changed from .009 to .011, yes you would need to check the spring tension to make sure you are still going back to zero. If you use heavier gauge strings you will use another spring on the tone block to get the proper adjustment. We recommend changing one string at a time, there is no locking nut.

TremKing 3 years ago
I want to buy it but i have a last question:
You say that the space between the 2 holes where you mount the tremking into the body ist 72,28mm ????!!!!!!!!!
On my strat the space between the 2 outside holes is 56mm!!
This means i cant use them and have to drill 2 new holes????
Please answer!!
Bye
mike
p.s. sry for my bad english!
flashpadxxx 3 years ago
Sorry, I gave you the measurement for the TK-3. The TK-1 screw holes are approximately 53.24mm apart.
TremKing 3 years ago
Approx 2.84" or 72.28mm. I have not found any matching screw holes. All guitars are a little different. You will have to plug the holes on top most likely.
TremKing 3 years ago
Can you please give me the size of the space bewteen the 2 holes???
flashpadxxx 3 years ago
when u hook it up with piezos and figure out a way for it to flutter, then we'll talk.
otherwise, very cool product!
metallideth83 3 years ago
peizo is no problem, GraphTech can fix you up right now. But it will not flutter...
TremKing 3 years ago
WHY YOU DONT MAKE A VIDEO AND SHOW US HOW YOU INSTALL THE TREMKING ON A NORMAL STRAT WITH A VINTAGE TREMOLO?????
It would be great!!!!!!!!
flashpadxxx 3 years ago
we're working on it...

I'm really interested in buying the tremking TK-1, but does it include the tone block?
If not, how do you fit it to an existing tone block?
CharvelDude94 3 years ago
yes it does
TremKing 3 years ago
i just purchased one! cant wait to try it out!
christopheye 3 years ago
Please let us know if you have any questions about installation or set up.
TremKing 3 years ago
um sorry but what dose flutter mean?
Moonwatcher360 3 years ago
hi. id like to know the prodecure for changing strings. is it just like the standard strat procedure, as in, through the bottom rout, through the bridge and into the tuners?
also, about how much is needed to be cut for full function?
Arlabester 3 years ago
Yes, you change the strings as on a normal vintage trem. No locking nut, no cutting, etc. Go to the web site and you can see pics of the rout and a diagram of how much needs to be routed.
TremKing 3 years ago
thank you!
Arlabester 3 years ago
just wondering, is this bridge also the type that requires an F spaced humbucker? i bought one already, and i was just wondering.
Arlabester 3 years ago
id like to see this thing flutter. if it does, i'd surely buy one.
tops005 3 years ago
Sorry, ti does not flutter.
TremKing 3 years ago
2. does it go as low as a vintage tremolo so it can do divebombs
3. apart from the small routing how hard is it to set up. ie the tension bar, matching the nut and springs
4. i live in ireland so its pretty hard to find these to try them out. do they come stock on any guitars or do you sell to any irish shops
5. does it fit on squier affinity
thanks again
cafuninapa 3 years ago
2. Yes
3. Not hard to set up. But it is a different system and adjusts slightly differently.
4. Not yet, several big companies are in the process of R&D.
5. How thick is the body. You need 45mm. You could use a thinner body, but the back plate might not fit.
TremKing 3 years ago
thank you for fixing 50 years of obvious flaws that we put up with (that should be your slogan"
i have a few questions before i buy the tk-1
1. can i change all strings at once without the floyd rose problem and can i tune to open tunings without it changing
cafuninapa 3 years ago
Change all strings at once,Yes, you can. You can drop tune without re-tuning. I just put together a Tom Anderson for a guy and it was tuned to c,g,d,c,a,e. Sounded cool and worked perfect.

Hey i'm just wanting to know how well the tele trem bridge is with slow pink floyd style bending! i'm seriously considering this product but just want to make sure before i purchase and rout my gat! cheers! so far i'm very impressed!
christopheye 3 years ago
I think it works great for what you described. Just keep in mind that this is a wholly new design with a slightly different feel and technique. And the TK definitely won't harm the tone of your guitar (but might be guilty of improving it). Thanks for the question and feedback. Cheers to you too.
TremKing 3 years ago
to Trem King...how does the Trem King hold up in comparisons to the original Fender strat bridges, or a PRS bridge...with respect to the overall impact on the guitar's tone...I know the Trem King stays in tune...
And "flutter is that sound that you get from tapping the end of the bar on a Floyd Rose and letting it vibrate on it's own...like Brad Gillis's Nightranger "cricket sounds"...
jimmychipper 3 years ago
Appreciate your comments, jimmy chipper! There is no impact on the guitar's tone, as recently confirmed for us by Nashville artist Kenny Vaughan.
TremKing 3 years ago
Is it hard to bend down with this tremd or is it smooth and easy???
flashpadxxx 3 years ago
The Trem King has a very smooth, very controlled, articulate feel. The bar goes all the way down to the body and the pressure is the same all the way down, it does not get harder like other trems.
TremKing 3 years ago
I've been selling gtrs since 1980 retail & wholesale. The Trem King is the coolest trem ever. I beat the crap out of them at 3 NAMM shows--stretched strings, bent...it stayed perfectly in tune--even for "country" bends.
You should have a pro install it. It doesn't "flutter" like a Floyd very well. It doesnt have quiet the range of string bending as any Floyd--on the other hand...the gtr doesnt go out of tune if you break a string. I bought one, and I'm having it installed on a handmade gtr.
jimmychipper 3 years ago
By what do you mean "flutter"? I'm relatively new with actual with guitar-related technical terms...
Boghman22 3 years ago
I'm VERY interested in buying the TK-1 but I have just one question. Why the need to go routing?I've been to the web site and it's a little confusing in the how to install section,It looks as though the routing that already exists is wider than the Trem king routing guide,It also looks as if you could just install the Trem-King without routing at all on my stratocaster(It's a Fender American Special Mahogany HSS Stratocaster)can I get the the dementions of the routing guide provided by trem king?
TheReaper0218 3 years ago
The standard routing used for strats is not quite roomy enough for the movement of the Trem King's tone block. You can print out the routng diagrams off of the web site. I'm sorry if the diagrams are confusing. We are glad to help you with any questions you might have.
TremKing 3 years ago
I am really interested in buying the TK-1, but is it possible to install this into my charvel san dimas (it has a strat-style vintage trem at the moment).
CharvelDude94 3 years ago
If it already has a vintage style in it, then yes youcan install the TK in the Charvel. Let me know what you need. We can do the install for you also.
TremKing 3 years ago
hey, i have a question
i have a Dean Razorback V with a Floyd Rose floating system
this isnt like a traditional tremolo (like on a strat)
is it possible to install one of the TremKings on it without any additional routing?
nekrotic13 3 years ago
Sorry but no. Because of the top rout, the Trem King will not retro fit without a LOT of work.
TremKing 3 years ago
any chance of putting in some piezos in the future?
metallideth83 3 years ago
we are working with Graphtec to make piezos. If you contact Graphtec they can make you some no. We just don't have actual production at this time. Stay Tuned...
TremKing 3 years ago
cool. two more questions: 1) can you flutter with this system, and 2) how does the range on this thing compare to that of an original floyd rose? (i.e, harmonic squeals, joe satriani/steve vai effects, etc)
metallideth83 3 years ago
yes, of course! Stay Tuned
TremKing 3 years ago
Where do I send the picture?
Brad22386 3 years ago
I was getting tired of fixing the licensed floyd on my Dean Dime-0-Flame ML to my liking so I replaced it with a revolutionary Fixed Bridge(Floyd like)tremo called a TREM KING. It was more than worth it I'll never go back to a Floyd rose, they are just to much work.
thank you Trem king...
Brad22386 3 years ago
No, thank you Brad. Send me a pic of your guitar. I will post it on the web site.
TremKing 3 years ago
Can yo use the Tk1 on a guitar with a humbucker pickup? Thanks
camaroman28 3 years ago
Of course, sorry for the delay in answering your question.
TremKing 3 years ago
It's not hard. It was designed to retrofit a vintage bridge. However, due to variations of bridges the 2 outside holes may or may not have to be plugged.
THREE MODELS AVAILABLE:
TK1 - for solid body, 3-single coil style guitars
TK2 - for solid body guitars with PU mounted in bridge plate
TK3 (NEW) - for other style solid body and semi-hollow gtrs.
Thanks - and PLEASE send me a PHOTO of your guitar with the Trem King and we'll post it on the site (site to be remodeled).
TremKing 3 years ago
how hard is it to put this in a 6 screw bridge?
irishman1133 3 years ago
I First Came upon these things for a Telecaster on eBay about 5-Minutes Ago (from when I'm Writing this)...and I Have a couple Stratocasters, A Couple Telecasters, Some Odd-Shaped Gibsons (1 Explorer, 1 Flying V, and 1 Jackson Professional RR3 Randy Roads V with Floyd Rose Bridge) and I have about 12 other guitars that I'm not even mentioning...

Does the T-style tremolo system go both ways? (pitchwise)
allowdiscracker101 4 years ago
This guy is really funny and the Trem King seems like a good idea...I got two questions.
1. How much routing does it require?
2. Do you guys make left handed versions?
finkster 4 years ago
oh GOOOOOOOOOD
karolwegrzyn 4 years ago
No locking nut. I use GraphTech nuts. Roller nuts - some will work, others won't. I put one on an American Fender with a roller nut and it worked fine. Yes, I can ship to Brasil.
TremKing 4 years ago
Could you tell me how it manages to stay in tune even when you bend? Are you using a graphite nut?
graveflowerx 4 years ago
The bridge is fixed to the body. The tone block is held at a balance between the string pressure and the spring pressure. Nothing moves until you move the trem arm...the nut is a Graph Tech nut
TremKing 4 years ago
But even if you bend on a guitar with a TOM style bridge, the strings go out of tune...
graveflowerx 4 years ago
my stop tails stay on pitch when strings are bent. if you put a peterson on it, i am sure you could see a slight change in pitch, but not hear it. what kind of guitars do you have with stop tails that you can actually hear a pitch change from bending a string?
TremKing 4 years ago
xD Just realised my stop tail has a cheapo plastic nut.
I love the tele style bridge, maybe I'll have to get one for my next build.

excellent product! i want one! (just have to save up lol)

when do you think you guys would make a seven string model if ever?
GuitarFreak1387 4 years ago
We are working on it now, but actual production will not be for quite some time. Stay Tuned
TremKing 4 years ago
another Q?If I install this, will the string stay in tune if I bend strings?
AphoticAgony 4 years ago
absolutely! you can use an open drone note and bend up and down the neck and it will stay in tune. play double stop bends and stay in tune.
TremKing 4 years ago
seems like a good design, i am going to research into it.
fnordpow 4 years ago
is it true that it bends only the sting you play ? I mean You can hear only the plaing one?
max887 4 years ago
All the strings move when you bend the trem arm. However, only the strings you are playing will sound.
TremKing 4 years ago
What would you like to know about it? Ask me...It is a fixed bridge and saddles, it stays in tune, really. Very smooth. The tone block pivots inside. No locking nut, stay in tune when you break a string.
TremKing 4 years ago
cool
