we really need body cavity searches to make sure no one is carrying anything dangerous. shared sacrifice is necessary for safety, we all have to pay our fair share. You don't want another 9/11 do you?
Executives for scanner corporations mostly former high-ranking Homeland Security officials successfully lobbied Congress into spending $300 million in stimulus money to buy the scanners. But running them will cost another $340 million each year. Operating them means 5,000 added TSA personnel, growing the screener workforce by 10 percent. This, when the federal debt commission is saying that we must cut federal employment rolls, including some FBI agents, just to keep spending sustainable.
Did it ever occur to you that opposing a specific method of screening and saying those in charge should do better when something happens ARE NOT INHERENTLY contradictory? That ignoring that you don't know that the scenario would even play out that way to begin with.
Lets first assume the underwear bomber wasn't a CIA operation.
It just makes no sense. Whats the next step in the process? won't the terrorists experiment with swallowing explosives, or surgical implant? So then we will have to replace these body scanners with new more powerful ones that can see inside you as well. Don't worry, its only a little more radiation - it won't kill you that much faster.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin.

People are such whiners. You won't see them complaining about TSA pat downs when some terrorist is hijacking their plane.

Hey why don't we all get chipped so they'll know that we're the "good" people?! This way we will never have to wait in line again.
"If we have nothing to hide then it shouldn't be a problem!"
"they are just trying to keep us safe from the terrorist!"
"Sometime we have to give up some of our liberty to protect our freedom!"
LOL! WTF! It's coming fast!!
