was that you pitching back in the day? i didnt want to say this but does anybody notice how the wind is blowing out 60 miles an hour? hhhmmmmm.... just sayin.
I think one of the misconceptions about long toss is that you can somehow extrapolate the distance thrown to show velocity achieved. It is most certainly not the case. At best, you can get a very, very rough estimate. However, you can only get that much if you are measuring distance the ball travels IN THE AIR. This video does not show that. It only identifies the final resting place, not the landing distance. I hope this helps to clarify the obvious misunderstanding here.
dono bout description..just cuz you can hit 350ft dont mean you can throw 95. i throw at 330-360 when im conditioned and sit 89-91....i cant even believe hes hitting 350 with those mechanics but ive seen crazier
Mellick is certainly hitting 350 on his long toss. His pitching mechanics have improved tremendously in the last year. He is breaking 90 mph in the league he pitches. That is very good for a 39 year old with a day time job. Post some of your long toss so we can see your mechanics. Hammer
ill post some this week when i go out...was at 315(warning track) hitting the backstop 20 feet up last time i went......this hammer from letstalkpitching?

Nice Bob Feller form. I've been getting into long toss recently and can throw about 230. 300 is harder than it looks.
