Oh and I found out, you don't even need to convert it to a work path, you can just export the single path, when you convert to a work path it sands down the edges, so it doesn't look very good. With a regular path export, the edges are perfectly fine.

There's a lot of ways to do this, you can do a color range selection if it's B&W, you can do a layer selection if the background is transparent or you can do this. There's other ways as well.
