The dances have the same ideas and roots (basically) both from Pagan people (earth worshipping - belief in animisn etc) the drum represents the heart beat, and both are basically fertility dances. I do bellydance for rituals and ceremonies and stuff, I practice alone though :( but, good enough for now.

sorry, I must have been referring to European Pagans at the time, but most of the beliefs of pre-Christians are correlated in some way, worshipping of cardinal points, Earth, Moon, Sun, Creator, spirits. I've been doing enough research, and I do follow these beliefs, but any mix up, or mis-naming (or whatever) my mistake.

Wicca does stem from Paganism, but they are so many similarities, and since I live in Canada, I mix the different beliefs, Native American and European, it's a multicultural country.
