First of all, I am SICK and TIRED OF ALL THE PARELLI HATERS! It is a free country. We have a choice to practice what we want! Besides, WE have the best interest of the horse in mind! Can I say the same for you??? Or do you just like to use your horses!? and are you too closed minded for anything else?
I love natural horsemanship, and I can tell you that Parelli is the crappiest excuse for it out there. All Linda and Pat Parelli did was market the idea of Natural Horsemanship to a bunch of idiots who didn't know what they were looking at.
True natural horsemanship is done with the heart and doesn't involve beating the horses in the face or twitching them to force bridles on....
If you ever listen to her, she SAYS she is NOT trying to show off, like she is a big dressage star! She was also giving a demo/talking showing a large crowd what she is and can do while explaining it to them. Btw, whoever video taped this, you do know your not suppose to video durring the celebrations?
Hey for those who dont like her, look up a video of her bridless riding... then say bad stuff, if you still beleive it.
This is the best I've seen LP ride, but stiff shoulders and arms, won't exactly help the horse. She needs to work on her posture and breathing, she is so tense.
But their are some amazing dressagemasters who show much better things than this, were all learning no 1 is the best but if ya wanna see this at the top level then take a look at the Grand prix dressage riders :)
Does she always ride with open hands and her wrists held the wrong way? This was very poor riding. She's much too stiff perhaps she needs to spend more time taking lessons and riding and lesson time beating horses like barney and sellling clueless people orange buggy whips aka carrot sticks. She's making that horse carry the weight of her hands and arms which is an easy 60lbs on his mouth by how she's holding her hands.
@iroquoisgp well i would love to see you train etc some of the horses pat and linda train and in fact save. you are the monkey....... dont comment when you have no idea what she does
It is commendable that LP is trying to learn dressage and good that she is doing it on a obvious schoolmaster and getting lessons from a master. I just hope she does not take these few lessons and think she can train a dressage horse and think she can teach other people how to train dressage. Please everyone, use a certified instructor, rather than a self-promoted instructor.
gold medal winning dressage riders of europe, some of the best in the world i might ad, think she is good enough to ride their horses but perhaps they should stop and listen to your opinion because you obviously really know what you are talking about well done you:) you have successfully made yourself look a like a cock!!!!
All she rides is made horses. She thinks she is so good but she cant train a horse for shit. She is a very very poor horse person if you could even call her that.
To the person who said that "Linda bought herself a nice horse...and Remmer does his best to make her *look* like a competent rider" - you might be interested to know that when Linda bought Remmer he had a dislocated pelvis, and has always had trouble carrying himself; advanced dressage moves in particular, are very challenging for this horse. What Linda has done with him is amazing! I wish people would inform themselves properly before rushing to criticise.
Linda Parelli's insistence on rounding the lower back and then straightening it, collapsing the ribcage at every stride, means that she has no core strength and will never easily influence her horse,.Whilst she persists in opposing everything classical, yet appears to wish to train with a classical trainer, she will always look like a rag doll on horseback.
The audience's "ooh" and "ahh" reactions to Linda's flapping about on that horse's back just shows how ignorant Parelli fans are when it comes to dressage. If they actually wanted to learn, they'd stop wasting money to sit and watch Linda have her butt kissed, and start taking riding lessons for themseves.
Linda bought herself a nice horse (thanks to sales of carrot sticks, overpriced rope halters and other gimmicks), and Remmer does his best to make her *look* like a competent rider.
What?! That's got to be most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Just food for thought- She's spent every day for 20 years with pat- maybe she IS good...??
Her riding speaks for itself. . .she really isn't all that good. I've seen eleven year old beginner-level riding students with better equitation than that.
superb relative elevation and self-carriage in this horse.
it is easy to pull and push a horse into a 'pretty' frame and force a trianglulating piaffe or dissociated extended trot and call it grand prix... but having the patience and principles of keeping the horse correct and in front of or at the vertical and accepting contact (notice there is no noseband) at a lower level like this is commenable
I love!!! Walter Zettl I rode in a few clinics with him and he thought I was very talented being put down in the past a gentile man who is awesome tells you that it makes you feel great. I have a question. He used to be with Reddemeade in Md now I see that he is mainly with Pat and Linda. Did he have a falling out with Paul Schopf??
I'm very entertained by the comments of the crowd. Apparently they think she's doing some kind of horse magyck thats never before been seen. But I guess if you spend all your time chasing your horse with a carrot stick then you might not have had time to see mediocre piaffe/passage attempts and stiff lead changes.
I am very entertained by the fact that you think Parelli is 'chasing your horse with a carrot stick.' You've obviously had some very poor sampling.
My pony used to be impossible to load (grain, whips, nothing worked), and by the time we got her in the trailer she was a nervous wreck. After doing some quality 'carrot stick chasing' for 15 minutes, I was able to stand outside the trailer, point at it, and she walked in and stayed in happily and calmly. And she still does, two years later.
Personal attacks do not make an opinion right. I thought that was OBVIOUS. ;-) I'm glad carrot stick play worked for you and your pony. As for my comment it was more an affront to the morons wielding the camera who think a flying change is so amazing. Get out and see some stuff, people. Eight year olds on ponies can do flying changes. Sheesh.
Its good you can laugh at it, it annoys the shit out of me....
These people man. "OH!" soooo good...
"Woooooo!!!"
Like, what are these people thinking.... They were very stiff changes too...pretty ugly....I wonder if its cause she did one then another a few strides later...WOW,
I wonder what the intructor is thinking....ha ha ha...I dont even ride dressage and she is very clearly BAD, equitation alone.
yes, thank GOD she's finally learning correct communication techniques!! It's okay overo - people just keep drinking the koolaid.. nothing you can do to help them.
Oh my gosh thank you! I agree with you! That is the perfect explanation for it (drinking the koolaid). Stick with classical people...you will get further. I can teach you how to do that with systematic classical work and you don't have to pay me $400 a weekend.
I'm sorry, but I do not think that she's very capable at this level.
I think that it's great that she's open to learning and her effort is commendable- but it's definatly not a video in which you could admire her ability.
What the hell is she playing at riding a horse of this level. That poor horse is a ST. for staying sane with her on, what from her bracing arms with no feel, the horse being slightly strung out in the back pounding on his forhand like it weighs 10,000lbs. She is just doing this because they think dressage riders are cash cows. This amateur rider cannot ride worth a crap and I would not even trust her to be put in a training level test let alone on a GP dressage horse. And people bash Anky, LOL!
No not jelous, just sad that Walter sold out to these sick peoples antics to tackle the dressage world, which they once bashed. I was overdramatic in my post, but its going to be a bitch for that poor man to reschool that horse after she just gave it a pulling session with her broken wrists and non-giving feel. But hey who am I? It just angers me that people actually support these psychos, when it plainly shows right here even after months of prep Walter is still not able to influence her. :)
Now is there really need for the name calling? Lol! I would really think twice about calling people who dont deserve it "dim-witted" and "close minded" w/o getting to know them first, even if they posted their opinion about. I mean, I did not call you names for supporting evil in its truest form, but again, hey who am I! Anyway have a nice day and I hope you and your Parelli/Carrot Sticks can train a horse to Grand Prix dressage. -Cheers :)
Walter is a great, great man, but I have to agree Linda seems very stiff. Plus, please tell me why these people pay so much to watch her take a lesson. I would rather pay Walter and take me own lesson. If you notice, she is not getting much elevation out of the horse...he could do more. This is due to her stiffness.
The horse is reacting properly to her body. If she could develop more elasticity in her body then she could develop more lift in her horse's gaits. I don't want to bash anyone I am just stating the obvious.
First of all, I am SICK and TIRED OF ALL THE PARELLI HATERS! It is a free country. We have a choice to practice what we want! Besides, WE have the best interest of the horse in mind!
