  • with that type of header box...be careful when you take off the suction host that goes to the header box...I always put a pan under it when I took mine off and I would flush water in the hose and box end...always got some gold from there...I like your video

  • Great times in the midwest chuck. Good to see a video..

  • Tricky video here! Chuck is not in the Midwest he is in the Yukon! Did you see that bear in the woods deep in the background? Did you see that salmon jump over there in the back of the creek? Look closely! :) :)

    Really, Great video Hoosier dude.

  • @kelty502 I don't think we have any bears, but there have been confirmed reports of cougars in Indiana

  • I love this video. Gold is where you find it..in Indiana!

  • complimenti, un bellissimo video e del bellissimo oro!

  • It was fun watching the video. I knew that I wouldn't see any great gains. The guys who know where the real strikes are keep those places VERY secret.

  • Mid summer 09 gold price makes that about $30 worth of gold for $150/$300 worth of labor on a Saturday (overtime day).

Hmmm... Sounds good to me. Ya get only a tenth as much money but you'll live ten times longer.

I'm a 66 yr old rockhound going strong. This dude's gotta it right.

There is gold everywhere by the way. On my first trip out to Indiana I found black sand just by myself without research. I was younger than this guy then. I also found something else - life.

    Nix the sofa

  • after only a couple hours of dredging? what if he worked all day? hmmm.... i need a dredge

  • man well done please make more videos

  • What a cunning plan, put detachable wheels on your dredge. Awesome

  • wow...you did better than some folks do in CA.

  • Very nice video.

    Found some nice pieces!

  • Cool video, I enjoy watching it. Can you make a video of how you "read" a stream for rich deposit spots? I know you mentioned moving boulders and stuff. Any info can help. Like what is the best places to dredge in a stream.

I live in Maryland, not much here but a little and dredging is illegal..

Thanks for the vids best of luck,

  • I just ordered your book. I can't wait to read it. I have been prospecting in Morgan, Monroe, and Brown county on and off for years. I have always a touch of gold fever.

  • great video, i have to get a dredge.

  • hey a fellow indiana prospector

youv'e been down to morgan monroe right

  • Been there a few times.

  • i could rip that area up in a day with my 5'' keene!! lol

  • Nice Video! I like watching the operation.

  • I use a copper plate in the foot of my sluice to suck up any free mercury outta the water-and thats a environmental public service in old goldrush waters.

  • Very nice video

Been to Big Pine Creek many atime myself as well as Brown County locations.

I would love to see more videos.

  • Great video, I sat there glued to the screen watching for color right along with you.

  • I went dredging for asteroids in space, but I lost my breath.

  • good vid-- but i would be concerned with the amount of gold in the bottom tray --way way to much

  • 1 gram = 30 dollars. It doesn't seem much, but if you like it I think is great!

  • wow tons of black sands there.... glad I dont have that much up here...

  • Nice job !!

One of the better dredging video's i've seen...

  • Thanks! I just completed an hour long video featuring my 5" dredge. Should have it listed on my website in a couple weeks.

  • That is a good video You made there.

  • What does Al Gore think of this kind of operation?

  • Suction dredging is beneficial to the environment, I remove many pounds of lead and other toxic metals from streams every year and leave behind nothing but loose gravel beds which are excellent for fish spawning....but I am sure Al Gore would disapprove!

  • When Al figures out a way to make money off this he'll be all over it. I don't think we'll see him anytime soon, his current business of making money off a non-existent problem is keeping him pretty busy

  • I agree. Global warming is just a scam to tax the American people and take away our Sovereignty. al gore is a communist who cares nothing about the enviroment and cares about his own wallet selling his carbon credits.

  • That's not true Al Gore is not a communist. That's purely an ignorant statement on your part. He's an idiot. It takes a sliver or intelligence and he doesn't have any. JK I agree global warming is happening but not because of us it's because it's the natural cycle of the earths season. A hundred years ago we had a little ice age, now we are creeping up on the "little summer"...earth cycles or earth seasons on a cosmic scale. NOT cow farts...

  • Chuck, I've got to buy your book. Are you going to do more videos?

    Thanks,

    ProspectorBill

  • Great video (and gold!) Chuck!

Your excellent book opens the door to successful prospecting for those of us in the midwest.

    Thanks,

    faaus
