On a close reach, 30 knots? Come on, true wind speed must be something in the 60's then... I sailed 470 for most of my teen years, boat speed in the 30's is not something that boat is capable of.

Hey Zockham, cool you enjoyed the ride, I can see it. I used to sail the 470 till I was about 18 ...I got too heavy (!) and upgraded to the FD ...these days I'm racing big boats but I still cherish my days in the 470 (check my vid in my old 470, I think it was around 1989) Sail hard, buddy!
