Samsung LN40A550 "C" Panel and "S" Panel Comparison

i never realiz=sed this i just checked and i got an S,, sweet. Thanks circuit city. Ive read alot of people hating on samsung but ive had cell phones, tvs, cameras and computers from them and they're all awesome quality. and most problems they have are very easy to fix

@LCCDrummer If you are happy with the PQ of your tv than it doesn't matter whether it is C panel, S panel, B panel, J panel etc. Just look at the PQ of your tv and see if you are satisfied. I got an A panel and people say it isn't good but my jaw dropped when I saw a 720p movie. I said screw this panel lottery BS since my tv looked great even if it was an A panel. S panel wouldn't be earth shattering in difference.

My sticker behind wrote model : b530p7R it does'nt specify which panel ... "S ,A ,C" .Can I check it in service mode ?I have a look but dunno where to look at

The position of the camera makes a significant difference to visual quality. You should have put the camera in the center. The S looks better because the camera is right in front of it.

Okay, so is somebody going to actual tell us how to identify a "S" panel before actual buying it so we dont end up with a "C" panel??

So were these two sets using the same firmware version? I've read that the firmware can have a big effect on PQ.

I don't know. The firmware on the "S" panel is 1004.1, and I no longer have the "C" panel. Sorry.

theres a 1009.0 module and an the older 1008.0module

i have a c panel with the 1008.0= CRAP!!!

audio/video syncing issues...the video lags bhind the audio...very annoying

The firmware for the "S" panel is 1004.1. No problems at all.

I don't know about the "C" panel, I returned it right after I made this video, so I can't check it.

Appreciate the video but it looks like you're standing more directly in front of the S panel, and looking off-axis to the C panel. I'd bet if you stood in front of the C panel and looked off-axis at the S panel, it'd look a little more washed out as well....just my 2 cents.

Yup. At the start he appears to be more in front of the "C Panel" and it appears more colourful. Then he quickly stays more in front of the "S Panel" the rest of the time.

Anyhow, the "S", "A", "C", have been confirmed to be the manufacturing plant location which get their panels from all the same locations except the "S" factory seems to have better QC.

Yeah, when I recorded this, I didn't think I would be putting it on youtube. But before shooting the video I did move around, and look at different angles, etc. and the "S" panel did look better. Personal preference i guess.
