Bottom line as with any business. If 2 people sell a product that is a toss up, then customer service should be the driving factor. The V1 customer service is no good. I ordered a V1 and it did not get to my home on time. I called and the lady at V! said I was causing her blood pressure to rise and continued to lecture me. I told her to cancel the order. At a time when people r not plunking down $400 for a toy, they had better learn to b a lot nicer. I am going with the Passport 9500.

I got her once and I immediately asked to speak to someone else as her reputation precedes her. It is well known by radar detector enthusiasts that the women at V1 is the last person you want to talk to. Enjoy your 9500!
@robm425 Thanks but after further research, I found that for the distances that I drive, the Escort Redline was my best choice and I ordered it. I also have the Cheetah C50 and I am in the process of buying a Blinder Extreme. From what I have read thus far is the V1 only has a rear advantage but, the Redline is superior in forward detection. I will be running the V1 and the Redline driving more than a thousand miles in a few days.
@BoysBigToyz You can't gp wrong either way with a Redline or V1... I find the V1 is better at instant-on radar than the Redline.
Running the detectors together hurts both of their performance. If you choose to do that make sure they are spread out on different corners of the windshield!
@a4Audi2153 Yeah but the problem I saw with the 9500i or xi was it was locking out real police radar which I am not a fan of. I'd rather mute the alerts that I don't want than have the detector mute the real alerts

@whitecracker21 Very true it does vary drastically, however I've had many occasions where on long flat roads my V1 will pick them up about 8 miles away. And in town its picked up cops about a mile and a quarter away sometimes on a perpendicular road too. But theres never been a time where I wasn't informed with at least 3-4 sec to react, plenty of time. An amazing work of engineering I say. Over the past 3 years of a lead but cautious foot and my V1 looking over me I've avoided tons of tickets.

@HowsTheHonda All bogey's mode...meaning there is no false alert filtering active. Similar to highway mode on other radar detectors. Its when the detector is most sensitive

@BL00D4NG31 Cobra is a Piece of Sh*t...So that is off the list. If you do a lot of in town driving and you are more in the city than you are on the open highway I would get the 9500ix. If you do alot of open highway driving and drive in rural area's I would go with either the RedLine or V1. Personally I like my V1 and I have had offer to get a RedLine at a discounted price but I kept my V1

The 8500 X50 is just as good.... There is no point in arrows. What does it matter where it is coming from are you going to adjust your speed any differently if it is coming from the left side? lol, you paid way too much for that when you could have an X50 for 100 dollars cheaper.

Plus this video unrealistically portraits the V1 as 100 % safe ,. when in reality it is just a tool that if added to being alert and checking your mirrors and scanning the road ahead of you can help prevent speed traps and accidents

@robm425 but that is my point Rob , it is videos like this that make it to the senate to try to outlaw radar detectors , I'm a detector user , and if you see my channel you see I did a pop test on the V1 , but I don't broadcast a live speed trap bragging about "omg if it wasn't for the V1 I would had been toast !" next thing you know you get in a car accident ,. kill someone and then this video is the "proof" that you could had been stopped on time if it wasn't for the V1.
@venom400 Honestly There is no need for police to try and ban radar detectors cause when radar guns are operated by smart police officers who selectively use instant-on you would be toast. Police know about radar detectors and they aren't phased about radar detectors at all.... The real problem is laser jammers which I will never show a video of any of my encounters. If detectors become illegal I'll be getting a BEL STi again like I had in canada where detectors are illegal

I bought a cheap one called xtr-150. From what I know radar detectors only beep when a cop has there radar going and watching cars do by right? Cause I've past plenty of cop cars and mine does nothing. Any out there that beep when a cop is just around you not doing anything? lol someone clear this up.

@T67GS300 my first ticket was for 98 in a 55 in my ol cougar . I learned my lesson though . GET A RADAR DETECTOR . And that is just what I did , along with a scanner :) .

ive got a hardwired V1 in my 2010 mustang GT i set mine to super sensitive in A and not in A mode. I pickup on all of them even when they are hiding behind bushes and trees and other objects.

Well that depends...if the guy was using instant on radar like the cop at the end was using I might not have enough time to slow. But if the cop was just leaving his radar on I would have been able to slow down
When you see 'J' and the radar signal is determined not to be a cop (You see know Cop) then it was filtering out a "junk detector" which leaks KA band. (some rd's leak radio waves similar to Ka, Cobra's are famous for it).
HOWEVER if you get a J alert from a real police officer running KA its time to send your V1 in for a tune up

BRO I HAVE A 2000 S70. and let me tell u, we have one hell of a slow car. the s70 NA makes MAYBE 150 hp to the wheels. get ur head out ur ass, both our cars our tremendously slow. and unlike u i bet i know a shit ton more about cars and driving then ull ever know in ur life. here is a suggestion, edit ur videos, plan ur dialog, and film something relevant. my POS radar detector buzzes when im right next to cops too and u weren't speeding, so it didnt save u.
Haha the NA s70 is 167hp crank there is a average loss of HP of 20% manual 30% for auto so that means your wheel HP is closer to 126 (using 25% power reduction) if you are lucky. I got turbo with slight modifications. Why would I want to speed in front of the cops Sorry i don't have a need for a ticket

It's awsome but not that awesome. He has a concealed display. It's an attachment that you can put anywhere and it shows you just the arrows and bogey counter. Good for if you want to mount V1 high on the windscreen or on the sun visor.

Hey Robm425, love this video. I have had my V1 for about 7 years. Best detector I have ever own and well worth the money. All I've had to replace was the power cord, still truckin. Someone mentioned lazer, no matter how good any detector is your only hope on a lazer is that it hits the car(s) ahead of you to give you reaction time. If it hits you thats it. Keep up the great vid's.
I agree - the V1 is unique and so much better than all others. The arrows are absolutely crucial! I don't know why so many people think they're useless.. they're by far THE most useful and important feature!! I also prefer the V1's INSTANT response over the Passports' "confirmed" signals because they're late. Often so late that you'd be screwed by the time it confirms.
hey, i have a video thats kinda similar to yours but im using a 9500i and there was a constant on Ka radar and an instant on K band radar. that saved me from a massive speeding ticket and it was a school zone too.
No get this detector the passport is good but you need the arrows. Every detector gives you false alarms. Thats a good thing but only valentine 1 has arrows and a counter to tell you how many you have. I know this i own one best thing i have ever bought. Saved my ass soooo many times.

Radar detectors do NOT jam radar it only detects radar. So if I was speeding it would register on his radar gun and that means I would get a ticket...Sorry I am not going to get a speeding ticket. If I did get a speeding ticket it would prove the detector sucks...I have been ticket free since i bought my radar detector and laser jammer
Unfortunately its not a COP detector and there is no such thing as a cop detector. But cops looking for speeders use radar and that is what I am detecting to tell where he is. The V1 has a two radar antenna's so that is how it tells front from rear
ok but have you ever heard of cops haveing lazar radars its a little lazer that gets your speed if you have a radar detectore you cant see if a cop has a lazar detectore is this v1 both of those things because the cobra is both

@darkhorse000 The 9500ix is slightly less sensitive and with the GPS filtering it keeps the false alerts to door openers to a minimum
V1 is hyper sensitive which can be alot for some people to handle if they drive in cities even with all the filtering modes turned on.
I am more of a person I would rather myself dismiss false alerts than have a detector do it for me so I don't mind the V1

Police know about radar detectors and they aren't phased about radar detectors at all.... The real problem is laser jammers which I will never show a video of any of my encounters. If detectors become illegal I'll be getting a BEL STi again like I had in canada where detectors are illegal

Nice video robm425. I've been debating the V1, the Redline, and the 9500i. Once the patent runs out for the arrows, Passport will be all over that. Until then, I think the V1 is the better choice after watching your run

I bought a cheap one called xtr-150. From what I know radar detectors only beep when a cop has there radar going and watching cars do by right? Cause I've past plenty of cop cars and mine does nothing. Any out there that beep when a cop is just around you not doing anything? lol someone clear this up.

One suggestion if you don't want the sound turn it completely off. That why you will notice that its not lit up and it will force you to turn it on and raise the volume

if you haave the V1 mounted hig on th e cars windshield u get a longer range of of detection up to .5 miles to 1.0 miles
any questions look at my video it is not the V1 but 8500X50 mounted in the same place hidden from luigi(cops) so they can see it

ive got a hardwired V1 in my 2010 mustang GT i set mine to super sensitive in A and not in A mode. I pickup on all of them even when they are hiding behind bushes and trees and other objects.

Well that depends...if the guy was using instant on radar like the cop at the end was using I might not have enough time to slow. But if the cop was just leaving his radar on I would have been able to slow down

When you see 'J' and the radar signal is determined not to be a cop (You see know Cop) then it was filtering out a "junk detector" which leaks KA band. (some rd's leak radio waves similar to Ka, Cobra's are famous for it).
HOWEVER if you get a J alert from a real police officer running KA its time to send your V1 in for a tune up

BRO I HAVE A 2000 S70. and let me tell u, we have one hell of a slow car. the s70 NA makes MAYBE 150 hp to the wheels. get ur head out ur ass, both our cars our tremendously slow. and unlike u i bet i know a shit ton more about cars and driving then ull ever know in ur life. here is a suggestion, edit ur videos, plan ur dialog, and film something relevant. my POS radar detector buzzes when im right next to cops too and u weren't speeding, so it didnt save u.

Haha the NA s70 is 167hp crank there is a average loss of HP of 20% manual 30% for auto so that means your wheel HP is closer to 126 (using 25% power reduction) if you are lucky. I got turbo with slight modifications. Why would I want to speed in front of the cops Sorry i don't have a need for a ticket

It's awsome but not that awesome. He has a concealed display. It's an attachment that you can put anywhere and it shows you just the arrows and bogey counter. Good for if you want to mount V1 high on the windscreen or on the sun visor.

Hey Robm425, love this video. I have had my V1 for about 7 years. Best detector I have ever own and well worth the money. All I've had to replace was the power cord, still truckin. Someone mentioned lazer, no matter how good any detector is your only hope on a lazer is that it hits the car(s) ahead of you to give you reaction time. If it hits you thats it. Keep up the great vid's.

I agree - the V1 is unique and so much better than all others. The arrows are absolutely crucial! I don't know why so many people think they're useless.. they're by far THE most useful and important feature!! I also prefer the V1's INSTANT response over the Passports' "confirmed" signals because they're late. Often so late that you'd be screwed by the time it confirms.
Valentine ftw. Far superior to Escort Passports.

No get this detector the passport is good but you need the arrows. Every detector gives you false alarms. Thats a good thing but only valentine 1 has arrows and a counter to tell you how many you have. I know this i own one best thing i have ever bought. Saved my ass soooo many times.

Radar detectors do NOT jam radar it only detects radar. So if I was speeding it would register on his radar gun and that means I would get a ticket...Sorry I am not going to get a speeding ticket. If I did get a speeding ticket it would prove the detector sucks...I have been ticket free since i bought my radar detector and laser jammer

Unfortunately its not a COP detector and there is no such thing as a cop detector. But cops looking for speeders use radar and that is what I am detecting to tell where he is. The V1 has a two radar antenna's so that is how it tells front from rear
