  • Screw the Lens of Truth.

  • It must be really hardcore to do a blind run of a game every time you play it.

  • Respect my friend, bravo!!! I admire your attitude and determination and I wish you with all my heart a life full of good health and successes!!!

I looked for you after the mention of your achievements by magnum66 who was inspired by you to do a blindfolded attempt at RE 2.

    Greetings from Athens Greece, Achilles:)

  • Wow dude Nice! But if ur gonna complete the game im warning u, water temple boss will be a bitch to complete.

  • This run was completed over a year ago. That's quite understandable to think that Morpha (the water temple boss) should be the hardest in the game, but actually it's not the case. If you can learn a method of getting yourself into the corners of the room, the tenticals cannot touch you but you can still hook the body and pull it out of the water. Try it next time, the corners are complete sanctuaries! Except for the spikes but they don't do that much damage.

  • @genuinescorruption no i mean, its not just to hookshot it then u got it, u gotta time ur shot well because he moves, right? and when ure blind how can u know when the tentacle with morpha strikes? there comes 2 after u hit it once or twice

  • @MrEriken See part 65 of this run, it contains the boss fight as well as a complete written strategy. I have listened to people playing who can see, even they just Z Target it when it comes out and just gamble and fire until they get it, it moves so fast that timing a perfect shot is next to impossible.

  • Your way better than me and I can see whats happening... genuinescorruption for president!

  • This is... so awe inspiring. So amazing. So... just... wow.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before, and I don't think I will again. Thank you for this undertaking.

  • i just want to congratulate you so much as it took me, a perfectly-sighted person a long time to complete this game. the fact that you can do this is just amazing

  • Im glad that your Playing the Greatest Game ever made and your playin it blind dude. No offence or anything like that but I hope that when you get to Ganondorf and whoop his as you will literally yell out "You just got yo ask kicked by a blind guy!!!!" If you want add me as a friend Im always looking for new friends who like Ocarina of Time. I try to come up with ideas and histories for the temple so if you want to be friends and I can explain it to ya let me know ok :D

  • Yu, Sir, are a gaming god amongst gaming gods.

  • If I was someone important in Videogame industries, believe me that I would do ANYTHING to get you a meeting with Shigeru Miyamoto. Congratulations.. Just Congratulations..

  • Believe me, he probably wouldn't hear you out, so your efforts to be compassionate would accomplish nothing. I see him as just any other corrupt corperet bigshot, and convincing someone like that to invest extra money in a very small percentage of the market never seems to work. He'd probably pay me to get out of his office before he'd pay to add accessibility features to anything.

  • @genuinescorruption He's not a corrupt bigshot. >:( Shigeru actually cares for his fans. :/

  • it's a pretty famous thing. These people decided to make a guide to help a blind kid finish the game.

  • it's a pretty famous thing. These people decided to make a guide to help a blind kid finish the game.

  • Man, that is incredibly inspiring. You're awesome!

  • Incredible ! i'm not speak english but this is fantatisc.

  • GREAT!!

  • So...

Who did cast the blindie to play he game? And why?

  • Impresionante!

  • This is one of a best thing I've seen. Congratulations!! You're GREAT!

  • This is something to be remembered by Zelda fans and people who tend to lose hope in general due to a disability...

    Bravo!

  • I guess you can't read this comment, but that's awesome that you're playing THE BEST GAME EVAH!

  • You are already subscribed to genuinescorruption

  • Hi. I've just read an article about Stevie Wonder, who said that he would be delighted if companies tried to make video games for blind people. I think that this topic has never been discussed by video games companies. Have you heard about this? And also there was a link for your movie on Youtube, saying that blind people are also interested in video games. That's why I'm here;) It's really amazing, you reminded me that you shouldn't never ever give up. I'm with you! :)

  • @Cypusek would they then be called audio games??? no reason to add video for a blind persons game :P

  • Well done! You`re a master, bro!

  • I assure you he is blinde..He's my little brother.. I have no idea how he manages to do this.. I can't even turn on my tv..lol

    Way to go Jordo!!!

  • how do we know that he is blind?

  • I've got a video on my channel of me playing twilight princess blindfolded. Furthermore, I can send you a copy of the directions that I'm using, so you can test them against the game and see that they work nearly perfectly.

  • This has to be the most amazing thing I've ever seen! I've played some games like Portal where I learned specific timing and patterns so I could get the rest of the speed achievements. The type of dedication it would take for a blind person to do something like this is what makes the best of the best.

  • I understand that, to somebody who was born blind, things like colors and digital shapes can be a bit hard to grasp. There's nothing for you to really compare those things to.

So I'm curious: what, if anything, do you "visualize" as you play the game? Is it too abstract to describe? Or do you forego trying to imagine sights entirely and just focus on the sounds and music?

  • The second one is dead on.

  • dude... 1 word... you're awesome...

  • Wow. This sounds like a lot of fun for: a) the people writing the comments and b) you.. I can imagine the directions go "do this until you hear that", and the game is so well designed sound wise that it works. Also, is there a website with the directions in it?

  • The directions are not currently published anywhere, since we're not complete. I can send it to you, though.

  • i'll wait till you're complete, then, unless you can send it to me via youtube. It's been a while since I played OoT, but if you ever decide to conquer a game I'm good with I'd love to help you out.

  • How are you with Banjo Kazooie?

  • Wow, it's a bit sad to think that a blind person can match my level of skill in this game. :(

  • Then watch the other videos on the channel, Mr. "Stoopid".

  • Would you like to see the directions for yourself, and try them against the game for yourself to see that it's realistic?

Sorry to humiliate you in public but the proof is all there.

  • You're an inspiration...

    Nobody has an excuse.

  • If you ever beat the Water Temple, you will deserve a medal.

  • I'm sure it won't be much harder than any other place, except for the fact that mesuring movements while swimming is a bit harder than on land.

I'm basically using a more in-depth walkthrough, so it's not like I'm trying to figure out where things are. Most of the problems people had with water temple were centered around hidden keys and passages.

  • You got a really good memory!

  • Na, for almost all of this I'm reading the directions as I go. I've pretty much memorized everything from the beginning of the game to seeing princess Zelda at the castle, but nothing after.

  • Link must be very proud of you!

Good job dude, and sorry for my bad english :P

  • Man, you actually made. my. day. Seeing you persevering through this game is just fascinating.

  • Amazing. I really like the idea of using sidestepping and backflips to navigate around. When you were fighting the deku babas I actually closed my eyes to see if I could locate them using sound. Keep up the excellent work!

  • Wow! Just wow!

  • You deserve a puppy.

    A cute, cuddly puppy.

  • I'll take a guide dog instead, thanks. It actually works for my love and nurturence.

  • A guide puppy?

    It will last longer!

  • I don't know how young the dogs are trained but I'm sure it's impossible for them to complete their training and start working while still a puppy.

  • Amazing... just, incredible.

  • That. Is. Incredible.

  • And to think he's never even seen Link...

    Wow...

    He deserves repect!!!

  • lol

the great deku tree ate you

    om nom nom

  • Pretty amazing to play this game without vision

there's a few games that it would be a lot more difficult and take loads of time to beat . but a game like ocarina of time I would have (before this) considered impossible.

  • He can't see your posts, guys.

  • Which is why he responds to people on his other videos right?

  • People read them out for him, and he tells them what to type, Or he has some sort of brail computer I guess. I mean, how did he type the description, and reply to other posts? Hmm?

  • there are programs out there for blind people to use the computer. they read out all text and whatnot on the screen, but im not too sure how it works with sites like youtube

  • It can't see things like the rewind and fastforward buttons, however it can find me the pause button (odd, isn't it?) but it's fully compatible with internet explorer and firefox at least, probably some others but I'm not sure.

  • he know what letter is in each key

  • I had training in grade 5. I mean, the keys are large razed buttons, it's not like you can't learn home row and then learn to hit all of the others from there (as fast as anyone else, I might add).

  • He memorized the keyboard keys.

Probably using a computer program to tell him what keys he typed initially, then got used to where they were.

  • I actually had long personal training sessions of keyboarding back in fifth grade.

  • with the same text-to-speach software that all other blind people use, that's the same answer I gave on my channel.

  • -.- he has a programe that read it for him so dont be stupid

  • So, what's your point? what's so bad about hearing them through a voice synthesizer program instead of seeing them, huh?

  • It is videos like this that cool my cruel troll heart and reminisce of the good old days of when i was like 7 (or something) and piled in my friends basement with nothing but this game, ginger-ale and the knowledge of how to beet the game. Oh where does time go? I need to find my n64 and invite my old friends over and play this again with them.

  • You are the man.

  • Amazing dude!!

    just AMAZING!!!

  • Dude, u are the best player in the world. thats just amazing!!

  • Amazing ! wish you the best of luck. its inspiring to see how you can make great progress in not the easiest of games. good luck for the rest!

  • God god you are so awesome!

That's it I am going to subscibe to you now:)

  • Dude, nice

  • Just plain amazing. Makes one happy in the soul to see things like this ^^

  • This is simply amazing. Best of luck on this run!

  • Dude, seriously...this is the coolest thing ever. I tried to beat that game when i was 16 and I couldn't do it easily and here you come doing it blind and super well. I admire your spirit and will.

  • You are Amazing my friend

Keep it up .. how old are you buddy =) ?

  • I am 19.

  • Wow. Good job.

    Good luck on the bosses.

  • The bosses are no trouble (except for Volvagia and Ganon), I was able to beat them 3 years ago, did them so many times that I just craved more, and that's why I had people start writing directions so I could try the other parts of this awsome game... and I look forward to the later temples.

  • Superb, I really admire your effort! Keep it up

  • Incrediable work, you play better than I do! *Subscribed*

  • I think this is a brilliant idea and i hope you are successful. I have not even finished the game myself yet and i have had it for a while. Good luck

  • This is pretty amazing.

    Great job.

  • man i hope you get to beat this game, this is one game i think everyone should get a chance to experience

  • Well with directions up to the end of Jabu Jabu, and several people helping out, I'm sure that day will come soon.

  • This, much like all your other literal blind runs, is quite impressive. Despite it being slower than speedruns, it's faster than some of my casual runs and is still much more entertaining than watching a casual play-through with sight.

  • Some casual runs are better than others.

A casual run where the player is inexperienced, has kinda a general idea of what to do but struggles their ass off, is boring... to me. But a run where the person is really sure... I don't mind. Though for some warped reason I do enjoy listening to someone struggle with a boss, especially when I know how to beat it with ease... I know that's sick and twisted...

  • i will be willing to help you with directions, just ask me which bit you need and ill get to work

  • Here's what available: Litterally everything after Jabu-Jabu except for the first half of the forest temple, and someone has just taken the fire temple, but everything else is available (including things that you must do inbetween temples).

Please feel free to choose your favourite portion; please add me on messenger and I will send you the directions we have this far so you can see how it's done.

Thanks so much, we greatly appreciate it.

  • amazing work man, and theguys who wrote up that script must have been very detiailed...i could never do that unless i went though the entire game and wrote word for word on what i did, and i could see the screen just fine ^^

  • Everything is viewable.

Its in the upper left of the screen but it is viewable and it isn't any different than anything else. I see everything pieces aren't missing its fine.

  • Thanks.

Don't worry about Jabu-Jabu, it's done. Just thought I'd let you know- runner and I had at least a 12 hour skype session and we did everything from silver scale to Barinade.

  • This is a very well done game. If I could say anything, if you can't picture graphics, what you think from sound is what they are really.

  • Can you reword that question?

  • You can't see the graphics, your blind. But the way you might picture them, could be very close to what you think, just from what I think.

  • I can't imagine the graphics because I can't imagine vision. I mostly try to imagine things as textures (what might Morpha feel like? etc).

  • The video takes up about 3/4ths of the screen so it's very viewable. All of the text is crisp, the action is easy to see... it's fine, but still the same as how it was.

  • This is amazing.

  • This is just amazing, can't wait to watch the whole thing, I can't even start to imagine how hard this must be.

  • You really have shown us that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve your goals. Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see more from you.

    And great job, once again.

  • Is the video quality better than in my previous OoT segments where the screen was apparently too small?

  • No, it's still the same. It still shows up as a bit small, in the upper left corner of the screen.

  • I guess there is no way to fix it then. I can't understand what it is that is causing this. Does my Banjo video have the same problem?

  • Yes it does.

  • I think it's fine though. It's much bigger than the first one was, but the same size as the last one. It takes up more than enough of the screen though, everything appears very clearly. You also have an HD button which blows it up even bigger so it would be just as large as a regular video.

    Great job with this again.
