Lmao. this penguin got ate by a killer whale last week. Its transponder stopped transponding and it never resurfaced and going out for food.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the GPS tracking system that was attached to 'Happy Feet' has not relayed any information back since last Friday. Whenever 'Happy Feet' breeches the surface of the water the GPS is suppose to send a signal back. His last known position was 52 degrees south and 170 degrees east at 8:11pm New Zealand time on Friday.
There is a chance the GPS fell off and is on the Ocean floor, or the possibility of 'Happy Feet' being lunch for a much larger creature...

$100,000 plus spent on this. How many hungry New Zealand kids could have that fed for a week? "Let's show the world how nice kiwis can be to wayward animals." Bollocks! The opportunity to use this lost-penguin event as marketing for both Tourism New Zealand and the Wellington Zoo is vile. And now the whole world can see my comment, assuming the uploader doesn't remove it.

This whole affair stinks. That penguin came ashore in NZ as part of natures plan. Whether it lived or perished, that's up to natural events. It has been used as a marketing ploy by Tourism New Zealand and excellent promotional material for Wellington Zoo (note the zoo advertising on the crate's styro 'doors'). Reportedly $100,000+ has been spent on this penguin but that is 'cheap' compared to the amount of coverage for Tourism NZ and Wellington Zoo.
