Before anyone says I'm defending Obama's "American Jobs Act," I'm not. I can't defend something that I haven't at least skimmed over. What I'm doing (at least where it's relevant to this video) is arguing that Biden's statement was not a threat, wasn't a "disgusting reference," it was a warning. We're losing good police to layoffs and such at an alarming rate, yet we still demand (as is our right) the same protection. Funny thing is that I am a medical responder and I know how long it takes for the average person to make a 911 call and the response time. If Biden is so worried about the safety of US citizens then why isn't he for passing the conceal/carry bill that has been in Congress for almost 2 years. Before anyone says I'm defending Obama's "American Jobs Act," I'm not. I can't defend something that I haven't at least skimmed over. What I'm doing (at least where it's relevant to this video) is arguing that Biden's statement was not a threat, wasn't a "disgusting reference," it was a warning. We're losing good police to layoffs and such at an alarming rate, yet we still demand (as is our right) the same protection. Biden seems to be implying that the AJA will put cops back to work.(Unchecked)

@JasonfromMinnesota I only feel it was badly worded, because it apparently, to GOP'ers, came off as a threat. Victims are not so sensitive about the issue that they cannot ever hear the word rape, which is what Mattera seems to think in this video.
If Joe had clarified--for instance, if there are fed. grants to cities for extra cops--then the meaning wouldn't have flown past conservatives. It was intended as a warning. Police layoffs mean less cops catching rapists, I'm convinced he meant.

I know we need to get some of these good men and women who've dedicated their lives to low paying dangerous jobs back to work, and I see 2 ways we could do that. Either increase funding to pay for more cops, or get rid of the bad cops, the corrupt who only became cops for the power of the position. For each bad cop we get rid of, a good cop gets their job back, and crime rates fall.
