  • i see you use the thumb stud before flicking the blade open.

do you risk damaging the stopping pin if you just flick it open?

  • I bet no one screws up your order at the fast food places when you have a knife like that. It tends to motivate people to listen well.

  • IMO its a knife that is more style than substance. but make no mistake, it is still a great knife, especially with the powerful liner lock, but it also quite intimidating.i personally love this knife purely for the aesthetics (im a fan of the whole switchblade look), but its kind of got a crappy hilt, so there are certainly better tactical folding knives out there.

  • yous sho could fuck up a nigga wit dat muthafucka yo

  • did you say "street legal"?

  • I actually liked this review for the simple reason of the multiple blade deploys, after all, that's what people wait for. I have the 4" and I never have to flip my wrist, I just use my thumb on the stud and snap it open, not moving my wrist at all. I'm getting the 6" next, and it should open the same way. Razor sharp out of box, locks up tight with no play at all. Balanced. Love this knife, and sure I'll love the 6" even more. Quality in Cold Steel is best I've seen next to my SOG.

  • i love this knife! mine has stood me in good stead in my job as a bouncer. stops drunks from threatening to cut me, usually right after i open it.

  • i love this knife, i have one as well, it serves me in good stead at my job as a bouncer. nothing scares a drunk like whipping it out and flicking it open. they immediately quit threatening to cut me. i love it. @flyby321 ive had mine for several years and havent noticed any blade play from this type of opening either.

  • when you open it fast do you just use the thumbstud?

  • if that was a smith and wesson knife, it would already be cutting its own handle from the wear lol. i must get this :D

  • fyi this guy deployed the knife 21 times in less than two minutes what kind of knfe review is that hey look i can deploy a knife a bunch of times

  • Just Curious, does the blade have any play at This point in time?

That type of hard snapping wrist flicking in high volumes (while fast and convenient) can induce blade play on even quality knife mechanisms ;) ..So hows it holding up now? :)

  • Every now and then I take an small allen key and put a little tension on the pivot screw .For the amount of times I have flicked this knife open- full power-pretty good.

  • yes, but those pivot screws only tighten to adjust side to side (horizontal play)..Not vertical(up and down play)

Thats the Play you have to watch out for ;)

  • I've got this knife! Loads of fun flicking it out by flick of the wrist! I don't carry this, but I have it right beside my bed. Although, I do sometimes use it as a letter opener!

Oh btw, is it really ok in Canada this knife?

  • It is only legal if your blade is used as a tool, not a weapon.

You could carry a blade like that, but you could have to explain why you carry such a big blade, and if you don't have any good reason (self defense is not a reason, as it would make the knife a weapon) you could get in trouble.

You're better off with the 4".

  • Damn. Where I live in Australia, you need a legitimate reason to carry any knife (yes, including swiss army knives). It is stupid, since it brings an assumption that people who EDC knives intend to use it as a weapon, when 99% of the time it would be used as a tool.

  • hows the factory edge on it

    is it sharp wb plz

  • Razor sharp out of the Box !

  • This is a knife Ive just purchased, too, its rad....its 13 inches of Man Metal.....seriously, dude get jealous of this monster.....and if they are on the wrong end...they run.

  • thats cool...you just sold me one....44 bucks...nice.

  • You can carry six inch knives in Canada? In my state it is four inches, and in some states in the US it is 2.5 inches.

  • i like the cold steel Ak-47 My self.... by the way you should have shown how it open when you pull it out of your pocket like the AK does

  • i've just paid about £45.00 about $70.00 for a (Cold Steel Ti Lite VI Zytel 13" Folding Pocket Knife) inc delivery is that a good price? i think these look great!!! Mason

  • forgeddit,

I just bought the 6 inch knife online. I had to, I realize i'd never carry it but it'd be awesome to use for home self defense. :D

  • I just picked up the 4 inch little brother of the one you were holding in this video. Very excited. :D

  • Anybody know is that knife leagal to carry in

your pocket in Canada or the USA ? One of my friends said you cant even carry that knife on the street !

  • Hey great video. You inspired me to purchase one of these knives and I was just curious, does it feature any kind of locking mechanism and does it work well as a self defense weopon because I live in an area with a few gangs. PLEASE REPLY =)

  • It has a Stainless Steel leaf spring lock tested to 130lbs.The knife is 13"long,if you need bigger a small sword would be the next step or perhaps a machete is what you need !

  • In England we have a major legal issue with knives. Any knife which has a blade exceeding 3 inches in length which is being carried in a public place without reasonable excuse (ie work or a hobby, self-defence does not count) is punishable by imprisonment or a fine.

I have a big dagger I got for £20, its blade is long and jagged, but its illegal to carry anywhere.

  • Do you know i the Ti-Lite is illegal in the UK. I know flick knives are but does this count?

  • my brother had one of these that fell apart after a year or so of hard use. admittedly he was using it for a lot of outdoor work and i definitely think it's more a self-defense blade than a workhorse. i've just ordered one of the new 6" ones made in japan, not taiwan, can't wait till it gets here!

  • Both Ti Lite versions; the 4" and 6" blades are fantastic. The latter is awesome. While the "small" version is convenient for everyday use and carry, the same cannot be said about the big. This should be regarded as the "Doomsday Pocket Knife". It should be kept at home in your own, personal drawer. If you wish, play with it when you feel like. Only when you are embarking on going to the wilderness, nature, trips to remote and unknown areas and war torn zone, TAKE THE WRATH OF THE GIANT WITH YOU!

  • in CA penal code 653k states that any folding knife is carriable so long as some part of the knife is visible IE pocket clip.

trust me, disgruntled mall cops will be pissed when they try to take away your knife and u list off a bunch of knife laws :P

  • like legal to carry on the streets or wat?

  • check with local police on knife

    laws in your area !

  • I've got my Vaquero Grande taken away a few months ago by the cops... I live in the Lower Mainland too .. saw your phonebook rip hahaha .. but yeh.. wondering if the ti-lite is legal or not to carry

  • Aye!

  • this is street legal!?

  • at 21 feet, the average person can run up and stab a cop before they can draw their firearm.

Not a real weapon my ass. Besides, their can be an extremely artistic side to knives as well, far beyond a gun could ever have.

  • i've heard horror stories of these things opening your your pocket or at other inconvenient times!

  • Good comment! This is not a toy !

weapon awareness must be used at all

times. That would be nasty to bend forward

and stab yourself! How about flick the knife,

lose control of it and stab a friend !

  • yeah, the oversize quillions lend themselves to inadvertently snagging on something, much more than other knives with a "Wave"

  • n00b.thats onli if its button. and even if its button the pocket will usually stop it unless ur fatass and got huge ass pockets that have room for the knife to open. if its flick then nothing will happen. n00b. even stileto it shudnt cause any real problems

  • are these spring assited ?

  • No! But the knife is so well balanced

that it is effortless to open !!

  • ya its the best knife i have in my collective. cold steel

  • I love the 6" version! It's a true beast!

  • I got the doble edge triple action and it's awesome plus it looks and sounds really cool when you open it quickly. I just ordered this knife and can't wait to get it.

  • Personally I own a 5" Vaquero folder - that thing's a beast!

  • yea i originally ordered the six inch and then after watching videos i realized how ridiulously huge it is for a daily carry pocket knife. so i called back and changed my order. it opens just as fast with the flick of the thumb stud...

i could never imagine walking around with a 13 inch knife in my pocket..

  • Its actually not too bad. I carry the 4" Zytel in my back pocket and I can't even feel it. But when I carry the 6" Zytel in my front pocket, it only bothers me when I get up and sit down.

  • I have this Ti-Lite and the 4" version and must warn anybody that is thinking of purchasing either that they are INCREDIBLY RAZOR SHARP !

  • I have this Ti-Lite and the 4" version and must warn anybody that is thinking of purchasing either that they are INCREDIBLY RAZOR SHARP !

  • its a kewl knife, but it seems so rediculously big!

  • can you deploy it out of your pocket? i have a six inch, catch the corner on your pocket with the stilleto studs
