As a Canadian black woman, who is young, I feel as though the racism and racial divide in America is stronger than ever. Racism is alive in Canada too! We need to be honest about what is really going on in our communities and stop pretending that Barack Obama becoming the president has changed the world's view on race. Every continent on the planet is practicing racism and most likely the darker skinned people of the world are at the receiving end of the abuse.

Young Sister, we must accentuate the positive. Having lived in the U.S. for many years, many years ago; I can tell you: the divide is diminishing. Barack Obama's election HAS changed the worlds view.....and so will you. Nothing is perfect, but change is constant.
