I saw this show with one of my best friends, Jeff Logan. It was a magical experience as a musician to finally get to see a version of Pink Floyd play. As a fan ... listening heaven.
I heard a while back that Roger Wright passed away. The keyboard player with the white hair. ( one of them) Don't know what he died of, but he will missed.
The second night 5-27-1994 was my first concert. I was 11 years old, and it warped my fragile little mind for the better. By the end of the show I was baptized into the world of Pink Floyd. 17 years later, and the journey continues.
The footage where this is from is only ca 15min long, a camera crew were send there to film something for a news report, and they left while they played On the Turning Away. Thats why it's not shaky at all, and professional zooms etc were used.
Astonishing that they had only half the lasers here, never noticed before^^ And yes, on the Astronomy-opened nights they had no film to LtF, but the other way around e.g. on PULSE we don't see the quite interesting circular lights-dance on ABitW etc^^
This show was from May of 1994. The last Browns season at the old Stadium was 1995. So there were two more Browns seasons there after this concert, and Model did not announce his move to Baltimore until November of 1995. So, at the time Floyd was there no one ever dreamed the Browns would be moving and Municipal Stadium would be torn down 2 years later.
My mother was here I was in 7th grade and I was so mad she took my dad instead of me. This is my favorite band always was always will be. Funny how I ended up becoming a heroin addict at 23 but through miracles I cleaned up and became an adult now for almost 4 years. I am 27 now. Did not do it very long a matter of 9 months maybe a year and It killed me twice and got me stabbed and left for dead once. Say no to drugs and yes to good music. Love to Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb
You can found the Audio version of "learning to fly" on cd PULSE recorded on 13 october 1994 at Earls cours london and on dvd PULSE recorded on 20 october 1994 at Earls Courts London which is than better the cd PULSE version(for the end solo) and on cd Delicate Sound of Thunder but recorded in August 1988
That solo SUCKS, Dave is right there, I would have been pissed off if I had been at that concert, theres no soul in that guitar work, dave guitar sings better than he does, and he sings very well.
Tim Renwick is a fine guitarist, trust me. Everyone can have a bad night. I saw them twice in 1994, and Tim put a lot of effort into the solo then. The reason Tim Renwick played the solo was because it was a birthday present from David in 1987 or something. On the earliest 1987 shows (3-4 first shows in Canada)David does the solo, and there is little difference, as I have the boots with David doing it, and of course it is great, but Tim nailed it usually every night.
tim renwick is good on his solo improve but i wish they just stuck to the original solo...although the guitarist in my band would prob do the same thing :)
When I saw them, they played 'Marooned' instead of 'Hey You', and a friend who lives in the States, saw them at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona and there they played 'Lost For Words', but there was basicly 2 standard setlists yes, with the band changing on playing some of the new songs in the first set, like 'A Great Day For Freedom' instead of 'Take It Back' for instance.
Was at this gig as well. Both nights on the field. Trippin my @ss off! Still remember Dave sayin "Merry Christmas" Still judge all other shows by floyd gigs! Hey C and Brent, member that!? LMAO! AWESOME!

Wow!
Too bad I was too young at that time to see them live. Let alone to understand and appreciate their contribution to music.
Oh wel. that's part of growing up I guess.

watch pulse DVD and I can assure that the solo by Tim Renwick is much better by far, and more precise! Anyway David Gilmoure is the best of course!

Yeah there is no Video Screen, and Half the lasers are working whats the deal with that? Sorry I am a stage tech so I notice the stuff like that
jayhergen 3 years ago
PF had 2 setlists on the Division Bell tour.
this vid is from a night that opened with 'Astronomy Domine' then went into 'Learning To Fly' as the second song.
on this setlist "mr screen" would rise up from behind the statge during 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' which opened the second half of the show.
if you want to see what that looked like, then watch Pulse and you'll see the screen rises up at the start of that show!
hope that explains it :D
