Great kid.

Had an optimist in my early years. My father tried for years for me and my sister to take sailinglessons but eventually he gave up.

We bought a H-boat together some years ago however so I guess something stuck about sailing. :)

Clearly you have never had to hike out of a boat before mew. It gets very hard on the top of the feet and the bottom gives grip when you are moving around as well as protects the feet when a slip happens and you jam your foot into something.

with a real sailboat I mean afcourse every boat you can get further with in sailing, a boat you can keep winning with. If you go opti sailing it mostly means you have to learn. When you can do this that good you win with games you get used to winning. but if you get in a bigger or as i say real boat you feel disappointed really soon. This mostly means you feel depressed in the first weeks you sail so just keep opti sailing as learning, i had the same after some years of optiing D:

you can sail a 420 whenever you want but you need 250 pounds on the boat to hold it down so its best just 2 stay in an opti till u r like 125 pounds. And optis are 'REAL' boats

I had one of these when i was a kid. now i have a JY hunter 25. it is great! when i was a kid, i used to love to capsize. it was fun! but only when i sailed in ponds... the ocean is scary. i recommend JY sailboats. they are wonderful! i am a sailing instructor and we use JY sailboats. we do capsizing drills and they are so much fun! the kids love them! i definitely reccomend the JY. it is better than a lot of other small sailboats.

i have a bic too, and i use something called the GoPro Digital Hero 3. they make a couple of different mounting systems, but i have the wrist-mounted one and like it because you can tighten it to the base of the mast or jury-rig some sort of system. also, you can just use it on your wrist. and also, it takes video, stills, sequences and is waterproof to 100 feet, and they make a camera for the front of dragsters so its pretty tough. the picture quality is also good since its a 3 megapixle lens.

This is obviously a very good sailor, I can see two misstakes he does on the uppwind though - both has to do with his tillarextension - He works his rodder a bit to much, he need to get a firmer grip. suggestion - Hold the tillarextension to your upper leggs. Second thing is that he should hold further back on his tillarextansion since his dinghy leens* to much.  - Other than that, awsome job!
