When I started watching this, after season one, I made up my mind to try my best to hate the 10th doctor, the replacement for my favorite tv character ever. When 9 regenerated into him my first thought was: what a pretty boy! However, as I got to know David both as the Doctor and as a person it became clear that I couldn't dislike him, he's awesome. Unlike most of the 10th fangirls out there, I'm still not sure if I like 9 or 10 more, they are both awesome in their own ways.
i love this especially when the doctor (david) confronts Rasillon and that woman( i still don't know who she is) takes here hands off her face,real emotion can be seen on doctor s face and the song amplifies that!!

I love David. I love Matt. Both are fantastic and bring out different aspects of the Doctor. David is more human, more compassionate. Matt is dark and quirky, so alien. Both of them feel right. Both of them are the Doctor, with different highlights of his character. now can we stop the debate and love both for who they are, not who they're not?

@WhatsernameGeeGeeJo The problem is that no mater what the writers say, the audiance is stuck with the 13 rule for number of regenerations. Even so, I suspect a way around it will be created for the Doctor, since there is no way they would just end the show because he reached his 13th incarnation.
@littlebritan I can't agree with you more. I love the Eleventh and appreciate his differences, but I think he's a little too happy sometimes. His planet is gone, anyone he's ever had attachments too dead or dying. I think some dramatic melancholy is in order.

For me this will always be the theme of the 9th Doctor... It captures the dark and melancholy side of 9 that he always tried to hide behind his goofy exterior.
I have watched series 5 episodes, and I have to say that while David Tennant will be my all time favofrite doctor, I have to say Matt has done a stupendous job at the role of the doctor. I wasn;t sure I'd like him, but Matt does do a fantastic job
OMG i have just realised how much i love Doctor Who the past few months my life has been around Harry Potter, i forgot Doctor Who was still so amazing! i love David Tennant in my opinion he was/always will be the greatest doctor, and to me when David Tennant was doctor it was very dramatic, and you could always tell he would leave with a bang, just by his theme you could tell that.
I think its strange to listen to the Doctor Theme with a Tennant-Doctor Picture. The most time this Music was played was in the first Season of NewWho with Ecclestone and only a very few times with Tennant

@bobbeta30 11 is not just a bad Doctor he is a bad actor, the episodes are perdictibe and unorignal. I looked at some of the other actors they were looking at and they could have done a better job.

Matt Smith is one hell of an actor, at least as good as David and Christopher.
rose's theme is a different one, much more focused on romantic. this is the tenth doctor's theme for sure. maybe you're thinking of doomsday, but doomsday wasn't as slow as this one, and had drums in it.

as for 10 it is when he loses rose and donna (or when things get timey wimey) so it is supposed to be sad.
I love this theme it really shows the doctors torment and loneliness through music. I love the new doctors theme alot, it shows the fun side of the doctor, and the dangarous side at the same time (series 5 doctor)

@Enialedam That's it exactly. The first Galifreyans to create the regeneration process created the limit of 12 cycles. All Time Lords and Time Ladies are limited by this restriction. The explanation given is that 12 is the maximum number of times they can rebuild their genome without scrambling it.
@Tamakaiju the Time Lord government has the power to grant new regenerations, however.
Time Lords are created on "Looms", as opposed to born naturally, so there's no reason they couldn't be programmed before birth to a set number of regenerations.
I like to think the seemingly arbitrary limit was foresight on the part of whoever came up with "regeneration" - he knew overuse would cheapen death and ruin the show, so set a limit and voila, we care when the Doctor "dies".
@FireflyFanatic3 Nah, I doubtthe hand thing counted. And even then, that they can regenerate 12 times means that they've got one life after the twelth time and then they die, making it 13 lives, so we got two more to come.
I, however am the Doctor's Daughter. Not "Jenny" but his Daughter before Galifrey was destroyed. Alas, he believes that I am dead. I have been searching for him for years. Luckily, I am only the second Regeneration of myself.
BTW to all who say that they are the 13th Doctor, if you know someone who saw the original Dr. Whos, you'd know there are only TWELVE regenerations to a Timelord. Yes, I know Imagination n' stuff, but... Meh, I don't even care anymore.
I'm really excited for Eleven and all, but if they use this song for him, I'll be... irked, to say the least. This belongs to Ten, and it (including all variations thereof) will belong to Ten. <3
Oh dear, I do hope they dont use it for Eleven. It suited Doctor in his Nine and Ten incarnations, the Bad Wolf times. Since there will (probably...) be no Bad Wolf references anymore, and Doctor being fully different, theme too must be something else.
I am still not sure how I feel about Eleven. He is just... not my type. Poor guy, I will remain being sceptical to him. :/
Oh dunno about the lack of bad wolf references, I'm still hoping upon hope the Tenth doctor in his human form in the parallel dimension makes an appearance. Mostly because the new doctor has still not grown on me yet, and I seriously miss the Tennant magic! :(

@atemuamadare I agree with you, it's not suited for the ever-bouncy 11th doctor. But more than skeptical, am I the only one who really misses the sad side of the doctor? I mean It's good to move on from all the horrible things that have happened in the past, but he shouldn't TOTALLY forget Rose, Martha, and Donna, or Jack for that matter. The eleventh doctor is nice enough I suppose but he's just too childish for me, he doesn't have the wisdom of almost a thousand years that David Tennant had.
@Perfectsymmetry18 I personally had the impression that Eleven acted a bit 'older and wiser' than ten, having learned a lesson from the horrible thinks he went through, and sharing these lessons with others; Rewatch "The beast Below" and "Victory of the Daleks". He actually shows pretty much the same amount of angst/heroic self-depreciation that ten did (He's more likely to shout at the world than to silently mope in a corner, but that's sall), but Amy restores his faith in himself and humanity.
@KendrixTermina I mean I guess, but I feel like it was 9 that was the rough and broken doctor from the time war, and then he met Rose, and she restored his faith. Then of course all those horrible things happened to 10, but I always felt he was more stoic then 11 has ever been. 10 moped of course, but he sure did a lot of screaming too.
I think the music came out really well through him, the music suits him SO well, I can never get over how PERFECT the Dr Who music is! It's kickass and mischeivous, just like him. Whereas this one suits 9 and 10 SO well ... kinda calm in places, but mostly quite sad, representing the tremendous loss they both suffered (through Gallifrey and their companions)
I, too, was skeptical at first, but Matt Smith has become a second favorite Doctor for me. I love his energy, his spirit, and his personality and how he delivers the character and his lines and even sometimes seems to channel a bit of Chris and David's energy and personality here and there. David was my first Doctor, yes, and I miss him dearly, but I can see him in Matt's incarnation as well. The Doctor is still The Doctor, no matter which incarnation. He's still The Doctor. :)

I stopped watching at season 5... I got bored. That says something. It's different, alright, but not the 'good' sort of different for me. I think the show is becoming worse, I will be honest.
Still, good to see that some do enjoy it. They surely have a better time waiting for new episodes!

For the Record - this is the DOCTORS theme! It is not Rose's theme which is different.
This piece of music is called the Doctors theme on the soundtrack, at the Prom and by Murray Gold.
It has often been played in the series when Rose is not in the scene or after she left the show.

@punk0star Meh...I guess so. But I always thought it should have been roses... they only played it when rose was there. And then they changed it when marther jones was there... I always thought that "all the strange, strange creatures" should have been the doctors theme.

I read a review of Matt Smith. It said he could be the best doctor ever! Who here believes it, I think I do its just at the end of the eleventh hour it sent chills down my spine, the part where he makes prisoner 0's guard run away, it was AWESOME!

i'm curious ... what happens when the Matt Smith guy "dies" cos then he'll really die! A timelord can only regenerate 12 times! (And if you count the 10th doctors regeneration into the hand ["I love the hand" *wiggles fingers*...] ) then when something happens to Matt Smith he'll be dead forever, as in REAL dead, not just "TimeLord dead" .... D':

Plus - I'm really curious about that regeneration rule: It seems utterly bizarre that natural selection would just spontaneously say "Ha! We will give you 13 lives to live!" Maybe 12 reincarnations is a Time Lord custom/law?

@Enialedam That's it exactly. The first Galifreyans to create the regeneration process created the limit of 12 cycles. All Time Lords and Time Ladies are limited by this restriction. The explanation given is that 12 is the maximum number of times they can rebuild their genome without scrambling it.

@Tamakaiju the Time Lord government has the power to grant new regenerations, however.
Time Lords are created on "Looms", as opposed to born naturally, so there's no reason they couldn't be programmed before birth to a set number of regenerations.
I like to think the seemingly arbitrary limit was foresight on the part of whoever came up with "regeneration" - he knew overuse would cheapen death and ruin the show, so set a limit and voila, we care when the Doctor "dies".

@FireflyFanatic3 Nah, I doubtthe hand thing counted. And even then, that they can regenerate 12 times means that they've got one life after the twelth time and then they die, making it 13 lives, so we got two more to come.

I, however am the Doctor's Daughter. Not "Jenny" but his Daughter before Galifrey was destroyed. Alas, he believes that I am dead. I have been searching for him for years. Luckily, I am only the second Regeneration of myself.
BTW to all who say that they are the 13th Doctor, if you know someone who saw the original Dr. Whos, you'd know there are only TWELVE regenerations to a Timelord. Yes, I know Imagination n' stuff, but... Meh, I don't even care anymore.

Oh dear, I do hope they dont use it for Eleven. It suited Doctor in his Nine and Ten incarnations, the Bad Wolf times. Since there will (probably...) be no Bad Wolf references anymore, and Doctor being fully different, theme too must be something else.
I am still not sure how I feel about Eleven. He is just... not my type. Poor guy, I will remain being sceptical to him. :/

Oh dunno about the lack of bad wolf references, I'm still hoping upon hope the Tenth doctor in his human form in the parallel dimension makes an appearance. Mostly because the new doctor has still not grown on me yet, and I seriously miss the Tennant magic! :(

@hyru913 The "Every star every planet" one? Yes, I agree it's great, because that's how awesome Murray Gold is. I still dislike the 11th Doctor in general, unfortunately. :( Which is a matter of personal opinion, of course!

@atemuamadare I agree with you, it's not suited for the ever-bouncy 11th doctor. But more than skeptical, am I the only one who really misses the sad side of the doctor? I mean It's good to move on from all the horrible things that have happened in the past, but he shouldn't TOTALLY forget Rose, Martha, and Donna, or Jack for that matter. The eleventh doctor is nice enough I suppose but he's just too childish for me, he doesn't have the wisdom of almost a thousand years that David Tennant had.

@Perfectsymmetry18 I personally had the impression that Eleven acted a bit 'older and wiser' than ten, having learned a lesson from the horrible thinks he went through, and sharing these lessons with others; Rewatch "The beast Below" and "Victory of the Daleks". He actually shows pretty much the same amount of angst/heroic self-depreciation that ten did (He's more likely to shout at the world than to silently mope in a corner, but that's sall), but Amy restores his faith in himself and humanity.

@KendrixTermina I mean I guess, but I feel like it was 9 that was the rough and broken doctor from the time war, and then he met Rose, and she restored his faith. Then of course all those horrible things happened to 10, but I always felt he was more stoic then 11 has ever been. 10 moped of course, but he sure did a lot of screaming too.

I think the music came out really well through him, the music suits him SO well, I can never get over how PERFECT the Dr Who music is! It's kickass and mischeivous, just like him. Whereas this one suits 9 and 10 SO well ... kinda calm in places, but mostly quite sad, representing the tremendous loss they both suffered (through Gallifrey and their companions)

I, too, was skeptical at first, but Matt Smith has become a second favorite Doctor for me. I love his energy, his spirit, and his personality and how he delivers the character and his lines and even sometimes seems to channel a bit of Chris and David's energy and personality here and there. David was my first Doctor, yes, and I miss him dearly, but I can see him in Matt's incarnation as well. The Doctor is still The Doctor, no matter which incarnation. He's still The Doctor. :)

I stopped watching at season 5... I got bored. That says something. It's different, alright, but not the 'good' sort of different for me. I think the show is becoming worse, I will be honest.
Still, good to see that some do enjoy it. They surely have a better time waiting for new episodes!
I have to say, Chris would be my Doctor, actually. :)
