Pretty shitty ending to the documentary, we go through 5 clips of them showing us ill disciplined pupils and teachers that can't cope, and in the final clip they have a school that IS largely disciplined, due to a hardline form the headmaster, and the programme makers choose to criticise them for being too strict. Make your mind up on what you want the programme to say!
The situation is now so bad that a hardline is what is needed, they should bring back the cane.
@wig3 True, but you've got to admit that was rather excessively strict. 20 pupils in a day sent home is a ridiculous measure, and a teacher should not curse at pupils at all, never mind for no reason. Yes, i agree strict is needed but hardline, concentration camp discipline is too much

I don't know... I think the programme is just pointing out that there are a variety of problems.
Even in the schools where there is a hardline, things are not perfect (i.e. Is it right for teachers to call students scum?)
