  • What does the title translate into? Something like 'I only burn because of you'??

  • @KnightShave "You´re burning me". I think so... :)

  • @Moriavel It means 'now you burn within me'

  • @TheLazyPlumber Thank you very much ... it´s a difficult language :)

  • im viewer numer 44,444 and she is beautiful.

  • Er føroysk ikke så fin, min norske bror og søste? Hún er virkilega falleg. Elska þá tungu.

  • did she say she wrote the song in just two days after arriving at Iceland?

  • @h1zchan No, she said that just before she came to Iceland, she was heartbroken for about two days, after a love affair. In those two days, she wrote this song. The lyrics are in Faroese.

  • Isnt she just the best???? Thanx for posting this treasure! This is definitely on my list of music to hunt down.

  • Wow. This song is amazing. The feeling she puts into the song moved me, and I can't understand a word.

  • Virkuliga Gód (: !

  • The most passionate song I have ever heard. :)

  • Brazil says hello!

  • Angelic singing :)

  • Controlled (but just barely) primal emotion. As only a primal nordic tongue could capture. In the long melodious harmonies I hear that voice of love calling out through a dark Yule season forest. Oh, ardor, satisfy my dark thoughts and may the dawn herald love from desire.

It doesn't hurt that she's beautiful either.

  • i want to learn icelandic but right now im busy with keeping my german and learning english and swedish. and im in ninth grade so in sweden i got exams right now

  • @tysken94 she is singing faroeese, not icelandic xD

  • @jooonleyg

oh im sorry its just that i got it connected with an icelandic song thats why i thought it´d be icelandic. beautiful language anyway

  • Thank you SO much aGeilini. I appreciate it :)

  • Can anyone translate into English what she says before she sings the song? Please! :)

  • "One time when i was,,,,how old was i? about sixteen, maybe seventeen years old. it was right before i came to Iceland to live. at that time,,,what's called in icelandic? At that time I had some rather grave love problems, that lasted right about,,,two days. (laugh) And in this two days i wrote a song, that is called "Nú brennur tú í mær", now you are burning inside of me."

  • amazing, beautiful song and beautiful singer

    greetings from Spain

  • 1:06 "play on my coconut" .-)

  • Ég var einu sinni í færeyjum þegar ég var lítill .... var geðveikt skotinn í færeyskum stelpum. They´re all inbred... but in a good way ;)

  • Can anyone please tell me what that sweet jug looking percussion instrument is? I want one but it's obviously inaccessible without knowing what it's called. Thanks.

  • I believe it's an udu drum. :)

  • Udu drum.

  • Can anyone translate the lyrics please? (:

  • I noticed that no one had posted the lyrics, so I thought I'd contribute. :P hahah. Beatiful, powerful song. Fantastic. Tá ið eg sá teg fúka framvið, Kendi mítt lítla hjarta ongan frið, Tín glóðheiti eldur brendi meg, Og aldri aftur skal eg kyssa teg. Nú brennur tú í mær Nú brennur tú í mær. Tá ið eg sá teg balla teg inn Í dúnmjúka, heita kropsskinn, Kyssa hennar vælangandi tár, Lata hana grøða tíni sár.
  • This is an amzing song! And no, she´s not icelandic, she´s from Faroe islands but visits Iceland alot. She learned icelandic and sings sometimes in icelandic. But she´s 100% from Faroe Islands

  • Haha, this is the happy-cheerful version of the song :) Try the album version from Kràkan, that one's depressing, claustrophobic, sad and awesome.

  • Bjork just sucks now lol....

  • Thanks for the correct information,Goggemarjus.

  • Don't understand a word....but a great song...emotional....soulful...powerful.The woman has a great voice and looks stupendous. I would never hear this in Italy if it wasn't for You-Tube. Makes me want to visit Iceland! Thanks,Ms. Palsdottir.

  • Eivør isn't Icelandic. She's from the Faroe Islands.

  • Goggemarjus:

What Language is she speaking? I think that the language not the person is what makes Vastedda99 want to visit Iceland... :)

  • read "pencilcollectionpost"'s comment.. he's right.

  • I agree but I beleive that the language at the beginning is what made Vastedda99 comment that they would like to go.( I presume they have assumed )

  • She is speaking Icelandic. But she is singing in Faroese. She is from Gøta in the Faroe Islands.

  • @vastedda99 @vastedda99 Yes she really is but she isn't Icelandic, she's from the Faroe Islands but lived in Iceland. Many Faroese musicians come to Iceland to work, fx. Jógvan Hansen.

  • @vastedda99 Another plus to the wonderful Internet and youtube ofc. Great to hear stuff from all over the world. Same as vastedda99, don't understand a word but I do enjoy it.

  • @vastedda99 she's from the Faroe Islands ;)

  • @vastedda99 shes not from iceland

  • Hail faroe og Ísland ! we are brothers !

  • Fucking fantastiskt..

  • I love this song :)

  • O.O She's great! I love her voice and the music^^

  • NO STUPID!! It's a Faroese song.. Tey skula ikki halda Eivør er Íslensk? :o

  • LiebeBillLoveJared: "NO STUPID!! "

Eingin grund til at kalla fólk býtt. No reason to call people stupid if they make one mistake.

  • Eg eri alíkavæl einig í at tey ikki skulu halda at hon er íslendsk.

  • samma faen, sangen er fin, og hun synger bra ^^

    det som teller

  • Good point!

  • it's right . <3

  • I guess it means, "Now you are burning in me?" Or am I wrong?

  • yes, that's right. it does mean "now you're burning in me" literally translated, it says "now burning you in me"

she is speaking Icelandic at the beggining, since she's in Iceland. But the song is in Faroese. She says the title in Faroese first, then translates it into Icelandic straight after.

an amazing and beautiful song. I love Eivør!

  • Ah, it's lovely. :D
