  • The guy was definitely the greatest i ve ever seen, i like Floyd but Roy in his prime was something else.

  • @deepbg1 oh man too true.if roy and floyd where in the same era, age, weightclass it would have been an incredible fight but roy would have came out on top

  • It was never about the money with this man...he makes me feel proud to be human...enough said...

  • @Pontan87 do what? he refused to rematch hopkins, even made a rap song or reference in a rap song about it, over money. this is prize fighting, you will be unlikely to locate a single man that doesn't eventually become filled with money ambitions. only one who wouldn't would have to be a person from the gutter with no family or something.

  • He's a fighter that just has to retire.

  • once he said that the best piece of advise he heared was "quit while u are ahead"...but he didnt apply it :( roy was my hero when i was a lil kid...i used to admire him so much...dont care what people say,for me he's a legend, the best boxer to ever step on the ring...

  • @kypselialani14

I like and dislike that saying. It has merit, but is quiting ever good?

  • @shadows987987 if u quit in order to keep your legacy alive i think it is good...no boxer can admit he got old and that he isnt the boxer he used to be...but like this he destroys what he built for years...roy for example...if he had stopped after ruiz or tarver 1 he would have been undefeated (except disq with griffin)...and not like mayweather...a true undefeated champion...

  • @kypselialani14

Like I said it does have merit and I understand why someone would say so. But defeat is an experience, if a fighter can't recover from defeat, then how can they be great? It's like the famous saying: "Show me a fighter who has never lost and I'll show you a fighter who has never fought anybody." We all need to taste defeat, because without the weakness there is no strength.

  • @shadows987987 but this is not about heart or the strenght to recover from a loss...its about the effect time has on every1...and in the fight with time, time always wins :) roy got old and he should had noticed he wasnt the same...i know its hard to say "i got old" especially when u r great...but...

  • @kypselialani14

Time defeats us humans and then forgets us. Defeat is hard as hell to admit. But I believe that admitting you lost is also a strength. Pride gets us no where.

  • @shadows987987 totally agree...admitting the defeat from time is also strenght...very well said...

  • @kypselialani14

And not only from time, it is a strength to admit that we lost this time, but are going to try harder the next time.

  • Jones in his prime was in other league

  • You can only go as far as you can without losing. Tarver's left hook destroyed Jones career. Jones was the most spectacular boxer in the last 20 years, but as we all know everything has an end.

  • roy jones jnr is a legend

  • who was the best fighter he fought ?

  • @EBTerriers Hopkins/Toney/Calzaghe

  • @KillerKid He beat a green hopkins and a weight drained Toney lol

  • @EBTerriers Well Hopkins didn't want any in 2002 when Roy Jones was calling him up.

  • @KillerKid

Thats what Im talkin about, and he is still in the rong,Roy Jones jr. one of the greatest.

  • sick video!

  • Roy Jones the only man in history, that could throw an uppercut faster than his opposition could a jab! and the only man i know, that knocked out a guy with his hands behind his back. he was so fast it was unreal but please roy quit for the fans sake. your damaging your untouchable legacy...first man in 102 years to be a middleweight and heavyweight champion..4 weight world champion

  • @dansmith2009774 roy jones isn't about his record or his legacy...he knows who he was and where he ranks amongst the greats and doesn't need anyone else to tell him that. i mean dude's 42 and he's got a fight scheduled for this december...do you really think he gives a fuck about the record at this point? he continues to fight because he's a fighter period. i respect that more than someone getting a nice record and retiring so it won't get fucked up.

  • @EndLikeLeviathan i agree with what your saying, id just hate to see a great boxer become a joke. and roy if not already soon will be.

  • @dansmith2009774 ya i feel you..some people already see him as a joke, which is sad. but true boxing fans will never forget who he was and how great he was.

  • Saddest story in boxing over the last 10 years

  • Maybe Roy should have stayed at heavyweight. You can't do the whole up and down weights when it's up and down including heavyweight. Just too much strain

  • just cuz he lost dont mean he dont deserve props.also i think mayweather would loose to jones.

  • He's gonna fight again this year. Does he have no money or what?

  • The best fighter in history!

  • He fough a buncht of bumbs other than b hop and toney.

  • this guy makes boxing look so easy truely artistic wat this guy does in the ring

  • Great music! Great editing! Geat videos!

  • 'He's a fighting cock and a fighting cock fights until he dies or until he's lost'

    - I'm struggling to name more than 5 of these in boxing today, and none of them are as good as Roy was. Sad.

  • @cringlec1 arturo gatti

  • man what a legend.... too bad to see him go off this way

  • @keithownseveryone09 i know right! when you have success like he did you cant just simply hang the gloves...it's just not that easy.
