Had the 1st issue of this in the day, & wore it out!!!!! It was a LOT of fun, & my older cousin was the only one to crank it hard enough to make it pop a wheelie when let loose. It didn't come with anything else, so my "Smash Up Derby" ramps came into further use. Worked out well-Still liked it better than my TTP I got a few years later.

I got one of these toys in the 70's for Christmas when i was about 6 and it was the best thing i ever got because we were not a rich family but the Christmas i got it was the only time it snowed 10 inches here in UK for over 20 years, i was mortified till the snow melted "5 weeks later" and the windy thingi you used to turn it had already broke before i could use it outside. Had the bike until i was about 15 years old. COOLEST TOY EVER THOUGH. great MEMORY VID.Thanks

@jerseyjamrock - they sold a reissue version made from the same moulds/plans for a few years in the US and the UK from about 2002 - I think this was discontinued just last year. It was identical to the version you could get in the 70's right down to the fact that the 'winder unit' broke quickly but the bike went on for ever - we've got 3 bike still (had 4 but the rocket jump put one of them into the Thames)

I had one of those toys back in the 70's. I used to launch him down the stairs in my parent's house. After the bike had broken he went on to be involved in various experiments with BB guns, hammers, fire, and was finally unearthed and brought to Ocean City Maryland where I gave him a proper burial in the sand. I imagine his battered form was washed out to sea in the one of the big winter storms of the early 1980's, and he now sleeps with the fishes.
