In 1983 I was the guard on a class 40, with 12x100 petrol tankers on going up Miles Plating Bank. The rail was wet, the loco sanders would not work,and the 40 was dragging its feet.
We ground to a halt at the bridge at 3.53.
I had to walk back to Vic and bring up the banker and tie it on.
The class 25 got us going and left us at Brewery Sidings.
I have been thru Vic hundreds of times in my time on the iron road.
We had 7 years on the Immingham to Ellesmere Port Gas Tanks, both loaded and empty.
Really wonderful to see this video it remembers so many things to me of when existia the train in the Argentinean. That part when it happens below the bridge, the smoke if I close the eyes and I feel the scent of the maquina.
