  • @verono29 its a phrase in powerliting terms you have to press the full weight with a pause if you take the weight down and "bounce" then you have momentum. If you pause you take the full weight the correct tecnique is to load your lats i.e bring down slowly acts like a spring! Powerlifters train to get maximum kinetic energy i.e speed means lower weight for speed one week and assistance and one week heavy (see westside barbell)

  • i feared for ur lower back on this lift

  • you do alll baddd thamn it,fuck, alll baddd

  • these modern weights are lame looking, I like the old school iron weights 20 to 30 years ago, but they are all melted down, he's good for 495

  • man. watching this is crazy. im a sophomore and can do 230. i hope one day ill be able to do 360+....one again amazing lift!

  • BIG DUDE!!

  • Your spotter has tiny balls! What is he doing? He should have just went and took a piss! If you are going to spot you must stay directly behind the lifter.Dont take two steps back! I think he did that because the man was white!

  • @TheTyler456123 Are you retarded? He clearly said step back dumb ass

  • LOUSY LIFT!

  • now that was a hell of a fight

  • Nice lift

  • wish my vid camera worked lol....people on here dont think its possible for me to bench 350 at 16 years old i weigh 250

  • @wildpanthercutlery

Doesn't matter. I did 365 it at that age and that weight XD(240-250 kept bouncing up and down -.-). Don't worry about who knows. Just don't stop! I did, and at 21 I'm still at 365lbs :'(

  • I'd just like to point out if he paused for 2 seconds with the bar .5" from his chest there would be no way he could complete this lift. He's using a lot of momentum from both bouncing the bar off of his chest and arms.

  • @verano29 you are correct about this lift but its gym lift and this was 9 months ago, i repp this weight out now, 500 with a pause for seconds easy.....

  • @sgtfitz71 what gear do you take

  • @verano29 I hate comments like yours when people talk about "bouncing the bar off his chest" this is completley stupid and impossible, for starters if he was only benching the bar it still wouldnt bounce as our chests simply dont do this, and second if you drop 500 pounds on a trampoline it wont even bounce never mind on a person.

  • thats impressive sarge!! im 45 and im rep 315 for 3 on vid check it out, ive hit 325 for 3 but dont have it video.. im gonna post something when i can do 315 for 6, i feel im close to it. 45 yrs old 5 10 .. 190.

  • Great Job Sgtfitz71 i know this video is from a while back but i didnt see it when you first put it up, i know you have been chasing 500 raw for awhile congrats on the PR.

  • @shizce1 he is checking the space in between the bar to make sure its even when he lifts it

  • good job sarge

  • nice job sarge. i just hit 500 this weekend :)

  • @jhor86 i saw that very nice work, great lift congrats 500 pounds is 500 pounds!!!!!!!

you came long way, im deployed cant video anything but still lifting heavy, my elbows wasnt issue never they have been very solid. i will reach 500 in a contest with pause no wraps nothing ultimate goal of mine at 40 plus years old lol

when i was your age i couldve push through 500 easy like yourself, i was too buzy chasin pussy then lol

get it while the gettin is good man, good job again.....

  • @sgtfitz71 At 40 even 45 you should be in your prime. If you lucky enought to avoid major injuries. This is strength world and not speed sports. You need 15-20 years to reach your peak. Andy Bolton broke deadlift record at 42 man. Some guys peaking in mid 20's but than again they going to retire in early 30's. You're right on track to hit 600 pounds in 3 years as long as you stay shoulder and peck injury free.

  • @m5p944 yes sir i will push rite through 550 here soon, then 600 is only 2 years away.....

  • @m5p944 If you eat right and rest enough you should be able to continue gaining strength well into your 50's. I just spotted a guy at the gym who was 55 and just pressed 575 for the first time in his life. He had been strength training since he was 35. Strength training is NOT a young man's sport. It takes a long time to but size on. If you start too young (early 20s) you will probably injure yourself....late 20s is optimal for long term growth.

  • big bench

  • why does he keep touching the plates just before

  • Fuck that shit you deserve credit for that. Insane power.

  • Awesome!

You mind messaging me a good workout?

  • That's incredible man! How did you get to where you're at with that kind of weight? Could you message me your routine? I'm currently at 290 for 1rep. My goal is to definitely get over 300, and get 225 for at least 10 reps. Any tips?

  • Nope just bad spotting

  • Shit spotter if you ask me

  • @Greenbodybuilding is that because hes black?

  • the reason for the failed attemp was you were wearing you uniform!!! excellent effort tho well done

  • FORM IS HOORRRRRRRIBLE. Yikes, strong though.

  • @JS8700 how is his form "HORRRRRRIBBBLLEEE"??

  • How many CC's are you running?

  • @GermanicPrussian What is a CC?

  • @sgtfitz71 he's implying that you use roids Sgt.

  • wtf are u seroius u had that lift, if u tried to breath more u woulda had it

  • @muzimuzi thanks bro, the ride side of the bar hit the rack on the bench, ive had this happen in the past its been a while since it has, i just need to focus more on positioning and not get sloppy anymore!!!!!!!

  • @sgtfitz71 the title never said it was an attempt so i was 100% sure u were getting the lift - u passed the 90 degree angle and u were about to lock it then i saw u started to loose it but still tought u might somhow make it till u called the spotter =P

  • Great attempt - especially that early into the program Sgt...what's your program look like? Can you message it to me?
