I have a real problem whenever I try to decide whether the opening for season 2, 3, or 4 is my favorite. Season 2 is so character-driven and forthright, season 3 is so joyful and pretty, and season 4 is so smooth and classy.

@JustinBlottin It's not a Bobby McFerrin song; it's just the Cosby show theme song, which was written by Bill and Stu Gardner, I think(I could be wrong). The title of it is escaping me at the moment, but the theme song of the show is the same for every season. The musical arrangement of the song is the only thing that changed from season to season. And for this particular season, Bobby did everything by mouth if I'm not mistaken.

@4lifeMrUntouchable A Different World was spun off at this point in the show. It's first season focused on Denise at college with members of the Cosby Show having crossover appearances. Lisa Bonet was written out due to pregnancy. As you see on the show, Denise does return to the original Cosby Show. A Different World went through changes post Denise's season, including Debbie Allen as director and a focus on the other characters.

I think that of the three plain-background openings (Seasons 2-4), that this is probably the weakest. The Season 3 opening is the best-executed of the ones with the plain background. Great dancing, and everyone's outfits harmonized well.

Well actually around that time Lisa Bonet aka Denise Huxtable was running around with Lenny Kravitz. He said it wasnt a good idea and she got mad about it. The bit at 0:43 was pretty slick. Bill Cosby wasn't sure where to go with Lisa Bonet's character due to her off-camera problems in her life, so instead of just cutting her usual intro off the show, he showed her photo, but didn't have to give her 'star billing' with her name on the screen. That gave him leeway in case Lisa was through or not with the show. Brilliant move by Bill.

Look up Angelheart, It's a movie starring Robert DeNiro and Mickey Rourke, and there is a love scene where Mickey has sex with Lisa Bonet and blood runs down the walls.. The movie had a lot to do with the occult, and Bill Cosby couldn't have pne of his Cosby Kids doing a movie like that.. So, off the show she went... So much for the nice guy image...
