Yes, complaints are rampant that today's music is garbage. Not much rhythm, rhyming. or lyrics go into the song planning. Crude terms and sexual references seem to be commonplace and totally destroys any feelings of love or dancing, with gansta rap probably being the most dumbed down of the lot.
\Great song. Even though it is about being in love with someone who doesn`t care, it has an unmistakable surf music sound.Am I the only one who notices it?
@hwaj5300 ......Probably for the same reason that they call today`s films "movies". Until a better word comes along to describe todays music, we`ll just call it "crap"
@LW2335 me too man--- cranked up the radio and put all the windows down in my 53 ford hardtop. with 54 olds taillight caps popped in .. if it was your oldsmobile out there somewhere I am truly sorry lol The out of tune guitar whether planned or unplanned was a "bitchen" thing. regards ,ripple
When I was back in college at Michigan State back in the 60's, I was in a rock band (guitar, bass, sax and (me) drums). We finished off every gig with about a 10 minute version of "Twist and Shout" and then a 15 minute version of "I've Had It". What great times and great memories! Thanks for posting!
You just think so, when this song came out, it was great!!!! It was very popular in spite of your disapproval!!!, so in the end, nobody really cared what you would have thought......................for that was then, and this is now!!!
Hey cant I have my OPINION? I never said it wasnt a hit, or wasn't popular. I only said it was out of tune. Pure fact. So get a grip and quit being so defensive.
Like who really cares? We didn't, we just liked the song. You have today's thinking, to criticize any and every thing! We had fun and enjoyed the music!
Harry, I'm near 65 also. We (and others) had the very special privelege of seeing the R&R years unfold before us. It was truly beautiful and full of fond memories. Many youngsters still love the old R&R sound, but have trouble finding it. Many towns have current oldies groups still performing the old songs. My town has two ... The VanDells and The Hot Wax Show. They're both excellent. Thank you for the post!!
Very nice job Harry! I always enjoyed that tune. But haven't heard it since I played it last. That would probably be mid 80's. Really entertaining. Thanks for your creativity, Reggie
