Yes it does "kill my viewing", because this pairing is unrealistic to me. Then again, you are right - I am not in India. I am in America. When Hollywood has a huge age gap, you don't notice, because the talent is so good they cross that boundary and the pairing is believable. It doesn't work in India for me.
