What is more logical than reducing the worlds population growth by restricting reproduction? If you did just reduce resource consumption per capita instead, eventually the increase in total population will mean that total resource consumption will reach (and pass) its original amount. It is not possible to have an ever increasing population.

Don't believe the view count either because they hide the true number of views from us so we aren't attracted to seeing them!
