  • This had to be around 1992.. because Jay is holding the Chic-ism CD.

  • @megavega4

Thanks for pointing this out. I used to stay up late, but no more. Good work!

  • fantastic, bealtiful, very good...

  • disco at it's finest! thank you for sharing this!

  • This song was really instrumental to hip-hop. Thanks!

  • @bleuivy - this is one of the songs that started it all here in NYC. I know, I was there!

  • That's a nice sounding tele that Nile has - teamed up with that analog stereo chorus from the Roland JC 120 in the back there, he sure makes that scratchy guitar sing!

  • THE ORIGINALS!

  • The great Bernard Edwards playing a Sadowsky bass with Chic...it won't get more New York vibes than that. Groovy.

  • GREAT classic !!!

  • rock band queen were a fan of nile rogers and this is where they got the bassline for another one bites the dust.

  • Bernard Edwards... king of groove.

  • They were on when Johnny Carson was on vacation , & Jay subbed for him.

  • The shortest one out front name is Jennifer Muldrow and I think the taller one name is Silver.

  • Oh my, look at Leno, looks so young, LOL. I like this video a lot. I have that CD, don´t listen to it that much, mainly because the drummer doesn´t make it for me, but a nice record anyway. I like this video also for the fact that nobody seems to remember that CD´s used to come in those huge cardboard boxes such as Leno is holding at the beginning of the video. Now I have some proof to show, since I bought a lot of them with these nice boxes...

  • Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin were the original femmes, . . . precious they were. But these girls aren't bad either. Just prefer the orig :0)

  • Woodie62

Any idea on why Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin were replaced? Agreed I prefer the originals.

  • Can't say for sure. It could be they probably suffered burn out like so many acts. Wanna do something different and don't want to be "typecasted". This version they're singing on Leno is okay but it's kind of hollow without the strings or extra keys in the background. It gives it that full sound. But of course the musicianship was still tops, always!!!

  • I totally agreed when you mentioned that the strings give this song a much fuller sound.

  • I think their original keyboard player wasn't involved in this either. So the sound is dramatically different when done live. Still love 'em though. . , , ,

  • Ahmet Ertegun knew good talent.

  • Where are the Chic Strings?!

  • loll jay leno looks the same

  • lol@comment "Jay Leno looks the same"

Jay Leno wasn't on the air in 79. Chic is older. This is recent

  • I was a bit confused by this also but Tony Thompson (drummer) and Bernard Edwards (bassist) are dead and have been for quite some time. So Leno must have aired this early 80's.

  • @bladesaint21 thanks for the update. I didn't know that Jay Leno was out in the 80s. Wow... nor did I know that these guys had passed. Thanks for informing me.

  • GOOD TIMES!!!!!

  • niles is on a tele wow

  • August 1979 this was the #1 song everywhere. Summertime jam indeed! Thompson, Rogers & Edwards are incredible!

  • NICE!!!

  • Its unreal how note perfect they all are, despite the usual thin sounding tv studio vibe that hampers all live performances the sheer class of this band still shines through. RIP Bernard.

  • Unforgetable, indestructable --> the good times.

US of A now for the 1st time with a funky man ahead - roll on. Greetz from groovy Germany

  • Bernard Edwards -utter legend.

  • Did you know that John Taylor of Duran Duran has that long Gibson that Bernard usually played? It given to him is Bernard's will...PEACE.

  • You're wrong. It's a MusicMan Stingray Bass. Legend.

  • Thank you for the correction. I always thought that was a Gibson. PEACE.

  • This live "Good Times" Video is great, the tracks on "Chicism" are brilliant as well!

  • Old School at it's BEST!!!!

  • Superb.

  • Great great video.

    Thank's a lot !!!!

Very rare video performing the late Bernard Edwards (RIP) on bass.

  • This performance is from 1992. They were promoting the 'Chic-ism' CD.
