I saw this terrific match in 1999. After the result I was elated and shouted aloud, this woke up my parents :-). Irrespective of the result I can tell you that even after 12 years I can still say that I am fan of Lance Klusner. I hate people who only see the result but not the performance or effort. Look at Sachin Tendulkar, he scored 85 in 2011 semi finals, what is the use that is after 4 or 5 dropped catches.
I wish some day I can meet Lance and tell him that I am fan of him.

in my opinion, it was klusener's fault. he knew that the ball was clearly going to the fielder. agreed, its the decision of the batsman going towards the danger end to make the call but Donald didn't even know that lance wanted that run. he started to run only after lance almost reached his end. its understandable that Donald didn't think lance would go for the run, not with 4 balls in hand. there wasn't any need to rush.

I remember just after this match donald apologies from south african public and say he dint here klusners call & try to correct the error he done in the last ball by backing up too much, there was lack of communication between two players that cost the game, klusner should chat with donald after field brought up it never happen, if they won this match they would surely beat pakistan more easier than aussies did,, all the best SA for 2011 wc

@Bugatti169 aus qualified for the final because they had defeated SA in the super 6's....the '99 world cup had this as a rule if it came to a tie in a knock-out match...the super 6's match in question is the one where gibbs infamously "dropped the world cup"

Man this is the match that got me interested in cricket. What drama....and a completely needless choke by SA! Easily the strongest SA team that has entered a world tournament. They had pretty much every base covered....except the mental aspect.
