  • is this a must after the still?

  • ok 2 ?,, is the filter reusable , caz i know if ya use activated charcol it should be replaced after use,, ? 2 ,, if you are worried about your alch leaching things from your gasket dont you think it will leach toxins from your non food grade plastic buckets or the plastic piping your using

  • so all you need is that brita filter no fancy charchoal?

  • @harrykid Pretty much so. Running it through any water activated carbon filter will pretty much do the trick.

  • @harrykid It will need to be replaced after a few times or so many gallons. I ran about 20 through mine and then replaced it. As for the plastic yea I would be worried if it was sitting in there for days but you are talking about a few minutes contact and there are other plastic carbon filters on the market too so I don't see a problem. Like I said, it's not spending days in the bucket or around the gasket.

  • I cant understand why you need to filter it. I need to filter mine becuase its homemade but store-bought alcohol?

  • my left ear enjoying your video.

  • wouldnt a britta water pitcher do the same thing

  • @blackdre36 I'm sure you can. I believe Myth Busters did an episode where the refiltered low quality vodka and made it better using a britta water pitcher but they only hold so much and I wanted to do 3 or 4 gallons at a time.

  • No it doesn't. It is just a homemade filter to remove some of the impurities after distilling your spirits.

  • does this take place of distilling?

  • @SmellyAtheist :O SELL???.. UMM...Did you watch the video? I think this vid is here to save you from having to shell out 70 pound... My kind suggestion to you!.. Make your own dude ;)

  • Hey,thanks for the video, ole timer.I was just going to use a brita jug for my smaller batches, but your idea is great for big batches.Im just about to devise a CHEAP method of polishing my stuff :) There is no way i will be paying big dollars for a premade job,i get more satisfaction, making my own stuff, and saving dollars along the way.Anyhow,i like your design and thanks again for the vid :)

  • Sorry couldn't tell you. I don't live in the UK.
