Wish I was driving their car I drive a car with 250,000 miles on it . I see what your talking about I see that many middle class and upper class families also suffer from over spending and buying big houses ,boats and cars .Must be nice
All these so called holidays were invented to take your money and put you in debt. Just like most, if not all religions were set up to take your money and keep you enslaved to their fake jake doctrines. This society was set up for your enslavement. It only took a couple of generations to do it.
Well, it's clearly a recycling center... Perhaps I should post this video on my channel as an example of fraudulent stories in news media and appeal to my viewers to vigorously oppose misplaced sensationalism.
Are you for real? With a Riverside CA address, you know this is a RECYCLING center, which a whole lot of real average-type people do on a regular basis. I take mine over there once a month.
If you're going to talk about the state of the economy, don't make up a fake story for a video.
That's the point George - these idiots spend, spend, spend, and consume over the holidays that they have little to no money afterwards. They should take your advice and only buy what they absolutely need. People can do without their 55' T.V's, Blu-ray players, stero surround systems, Iphone, Ipads, etc... come on it's soo ridiculous.
@CarlosMendez003 - AMEN! I lived in the middle of the spend, spend, spend SF Bay Area culture. I think I was the only person, besides my filipino retired postman neighbor, who lived within our means while the spending was going on around us. He had paid off his house long before we moved to the neighborhood. Remember, people are the problem, nothing else. We create our own success of pity party. Take care!
It's a CRV recycle center in the parking lot of a grocery store. They're sorting their plastic, aluminum and glass into those blue recycle cans. There is one at pretty much every grocery store in California.
I take in my taxed glass, aluminum and plastic beverage containers at least once every 2-3 months. You paid a CRV tax for it. You might as well get a portion of that tax back.
I wonder how many of these middle-class families would be ok now or at least in better shape to weather the storm if the fruits of their labor were not taxed out of existence.
I don't feel too sorry for a blatantly wasteful society being taken to this point where they finally see the utility in not being wasteful fucking pigs.
Waste is indeed a bad thing, stupidity really. But the condition of a people brought low is because they followed a socialist line, more and more taxes to give to the least productive among us. Waste, yes I agree, we wasted our nation's treasure on those not worthy of same.
@joesphx19 10 to 1 this family has an SUV that gets 16 miles to the gallon, has maxed out all their credit cards, had a great vacation last year, has an HDTV with cable television, an XBox360 or PS3 or both, and up until recently cooked at home maybe once a week.
10:1 that's a Starbucks coffee that woman with the red bag is sipping.
People have shitty priorities. That's how housing prices were driven up and why people have no savings.
Hey George, I am buying a house in Germany (goal with cash/currency/paper). I look in garbage cans for the cans and glass bottles with deposits on them. I have found over 650.00 to date. I help the environment. I have a good job, but why throw away things that have a worth. Make in fun of someone else George!
The trash can there in Calif may be raided, but here it's full of great stuff. I even find new shoes placed next to cans just for us rotten, terrible homeless people to use. Today, an upscale bakery had it's tent out to attract Sunday shoppers, and the owner filled up a bag for me with chocolate cookies, a quiche, and rolls. I don't know why homelessness isn't working for people elsewhere.
@fuzzywzhe I use free Internet all over town...not saying how I do it. You'll have some homework to do. ..Oh, man, anyone, even us "enemies of the state" can buy a notebook computer and find free, 24/7 wifi around town with no problem. Lots of people just sleep at the Starbucks all night around here--they're open all night. Look, I don't want this info getting out because somebody has to work to pay for this all. Ok, now go back to your cubicle.
One of your subscribers had a video of middle class people in upstate NY going to a Salvation Army thrift store in such numbers that there was no parking in the lot or on the street. It's been in the news that people can't shop at Wal-Mart anymore because the prices are too high for them. So now they're clogging thrift stores, BUT...what's next? Those are the lowest prices in the USA--I guess they'll stop using money??
This isn't anything newsworthy: NEWS-FLASH!! Some average but intelligent people (including middle-class folks), would prefer to recoup their recycling fees, as opposed to leaving it for the likes of corporations like Waste Management and the people that rummage through your recycling bins. Big whoop! Mystery solved.
All this guys channel ever shows is... how the collapse is close or some personal drama or.. some other weird topics..like interviews with ppl i've never heard of :P
Never thought I'd be saying it sucks to be middle class, but that's how far down we came, huh? They should take the whole bag home and toss everything that's biodegradable into a vat with cow poo bacteria and water, it'll brew methane they can use to heat their homes and run a steam turbine off a burner to spin an alternator to generate electricity.
I talked to a guy a few years ago who said he averages $10 per hour getting cans out of the dumpster. He also said the most surprising thing people do, is when they go to the store, they buy stuff, then they put their change in the plastic bag and forget about it and throw the bag away with money in it. Sometimes its several dollars.
But according to the conservative right this family is poor because they're weak, dumb, uneducated and unable to compete in the open market. Don't we need winners and losers in a capitalistic system? Not my words!
Just curious if anyone posting here has wen't dumpster diving for can's...I've thought about it but everyone thinks i'm crazy. I just want to know was it worth it.
@indignant99 Oh and by the way I got an A in English...it's called making a mistake. I'm sorry if you have no life and you feel need to take time out of your day to correct my spelling. Also I will put an apostrophe in wen't if I damn well please and there's nothing you can do about it.
I teach several subjects at univ. level. Sociology is one of them. Homelessness is one of our topics. Many middle class families ARE in the homeless population. Middle class is disappearing. It's the very rich and then all the rest of us. Largely due to outsourcing of jobs and mortgage foreclosure crisis. Middle class are often walking away from their homes, leaving everything behind, and returning to their elderly parents for a place to live. If you are not one of them, be thankful.
Hmmm nothing wrong with getting tin cans in garbage bags, there hundreds of thousands of people digging in the dirt for oil, precious metals, gas etc etc... its the same there. The job is hard work and derty.
@charlesfuchs Some of the richest mining in the future may be in the dumps, think of all the electronic devices thrown away with small amounts of silver in them.
Agree w/ Mr071220 recycling is not scrapping. Wish more people would do the same. People need to be commended for recycling rather than marginalized, George. :( And even when economy is good, people should still recycle--- so I guess that's the silver lining in our bad situation, people learn to do more with less and reuse instead of discard.
@babotSOmom Separate A from B from C, we make the effort the recycling companies make profit. Stick it! Oh, but the environment! Well at least BP saved half million dollars by not caring for the environment. Someone may fine me for putting a plastic bottle in the wrong trash? Really? LOL go ahead.
You should put up some kind of help wanted ad and see how many people are skilled people and see what kind of backgrounds they have. You get some people that have worked for a company that went over seas and they might be able to tell you some good information on the company. It would be real interesting to get someone that went over to china and elsewhere and set up machinery and trained those people to do his job. What companies are leaving California and what are they doing?
This is a recycle center. Are you telling me that they put these spendy centers up on location only for the scum of the earth. People have been recycling for a long time G! It's this crazy thing called going green. I guess you still just throw away your cans and glass. Hey if your almighty rich from utube be my guest. Better yet put it out front on your curb once a week for free and let us middle class underlings take it to the green/recycle center with all the rest of the scum.
forget about tax returns- if you are unemployed and on u/i you will actually owe money come april 15th- yet another story that goes unreported. which of course is why unemployment is NOT the same as welfare- their are no tax charges on welfare!
They don't have very much there you need a lot of stuff to make any money that way. Average people are trying for the legal buck the crack heads are now scrapping everything they can get away with swiping.
George they are doing just the opposite they are taking items out of their bags and putting items in the blue pails.. You are twisting the story George to get hits not good George! Bad George! slap...
@MajesticFilmz It reads 'beverage container recycling center' they get cash in these kiosks type of things for the recyclables they bring in. You usually see homeless doing this, not people like this.
@MarsBar2012 George is exaggerating. If I had a recycling center nearby and I could get cash back instead of letting a town person picking up recycling I would get the cash why should the guy picking it up get it? These people are doing just that. George does not have to make things look worse than they are. What we see in the video is normal.. Not strange happenings..
I hate to say this but in economics there is the law of supply and demand. Right now there is an oversupply of workers with little to no demand. That is the reality of the world we live in now. This is all due to cheap fossil fuels which led to factory farming=cheap food=more people which due to Peak Oil has led to this-Economic Collapse.
Like a Petri dish with too many bacteria which has reached it's limits of growth the cannibalism has begun-at the top-PTB getting all they can-we die.
People road-hunt in my neighborhood...slow moving cars with 4 people in them checking out the neighborhood for opportunities, garages left open, bikes left outside, in addtion to the single walking person with big screwdriver in his hand or back pocket walking around aimlessly.
I think it would be a better idea spending your time growing a garden , than getting 2 $ from garbage to buy half a cheese burger and split it between 6 people
