I have beat the game many times. The only reason I failed epically was due to the fact I was using a keyboard on my computer as I was using the emulator version of the game for recording purposes.
@radelgratereaux You know those stars you get when you hit someone off-guard? If you press start, you can use one of those to use a super-uppercut move. Every time you get hit you lose one, though, so you have to time them well.

Not bad. But then, not good. Two rounds against Honda and a knockout? Forgive my asking, but have you ever actually beaten the game?
I didn't even know about Mac's special until just about a year ago, and sadly, I never got past Macho without it. (Of course, I've beaten it by now.)
