  • 400 w WTF is Gus g def come on and I love this amp I don't want an amp that can make me def I an amp like that but 100 w or less can someone tell me one

  • ...aha...wait...400 watts!?!?!?

  • 400w? pratical for home.....

  • this guy ruins guitar world

  • this guy riuns guitar world

  • wow 400 watts, hope my neighbours like its sound, and the whole town too

  • I dont get it... Is Gus G at BLACKSTAR or RANDALL?

  • @71GA he is currently with blackstar. he used to be with randall one or two years ago.

  • @kostismv Anyone knows why he left?

  • @71GA i am not sure but i suppose because blackstar is way better :P

  • @kostismv I have a blackstar stage 60 and honestly my roland cube sounds better for metal and it broke within 2 months, so for people thinking about buying a blackstar I advise not to if you play thrash or death metal and don't want to have to end up replacing tubes, i'm switching mine for a t2 then saving money for an ENGL.

  • @FirePower3006 i wasn't talking about the ht-60 but about the series one models. however i agree with you that for death metal randall is better. for which engl ? :)

  • @kostismv Well.. The blackmore, savage, fireball 100, and the victor smolski models but mainly the blackmore. I also keen on getting a axe fx standard cuz those things are sweet!

  • @FirePower3006 yeah the enlg blackmore is great. you can get some great tones out of it.

  • Solid State amp derps

  • wow. and i thought 150 watts was a lot.

  • holy shit 400 watts ! im scared to crank my 75 watt all the way up thats gotta be awesome !

  • @metalpride15 must have had a tube going out .or settings were not set right .this amp has to be set with level knob up high .dudes never turn the LEVEL knobs on any demos on utube. i am a metal and gainaholic and if you had heard my combo version the randall t2c you would think its a super high gain tube head .i get compliments from people after gigs on my brutal high gain tone .i had to love or hate my combo cause local shop gave me deal, luckily its the best amp ever i have had many.HYBRIDS

  • Good fakin thing Gus plays Blackstar amps now...

  • @gazuul Why?

  • 400 watt ?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?!

  • 400 watts..wow

  • Waste my fucking time... Don't be advertisement whores. Demonstrate it.

  • wat the fuck is with these vids with no playing??

  • @mav5150 yeah its a hybrid amp

  • gus g went from this to a BEAST of an amp BLACKSTAR SERIES 200.badd ass mother trucker.

  • @mav5150

As an electronics engineer I was thinking that 400 Watts is a tall order for a head that size and it's not a head I would like to try to carry without wearing a weight lifters belt.

  • Bear in mind people that just after releasing this amp Gus switched away from Randall entirely - he plays Blackstar now

  • wtf this amp is sick yeah i was thinking how the heck did gus g get that sound now i know this amp must be insane !

  • the words 'all tube' are really being abused. All it REALLY means is that the tube circuitry in the unit is all tube. Crack open lots of alleged 'all tube' amps and you find diodes.

If you want to really have old school ccts amps like Bad Cat, Dr Z, /13 etc are actually all tube. Makers like ENGL, Randall, Marshall, Mesa, Soldano etc are using diodes. You cant get the insane gain of an ENGL Powerball or a Mesa Rectifier without something extra under the hood. Nothing wrong with diodes.

  • Well Gus is using the Blackstar series one 200 now, so you can kiss this thing goodbye!

  • @kkdav1 lets hope we find it in a bargain bin eh? :P

  • 400 fucking watts....

  • Geez 400w all tube. That's way too much power, I don't care who you are, you don't need that much.

  • @swanky23 Your right man,not even the Randy Rhoads stacks sold well because of too much power.

  • @jayou812a True dat! Unless you're filling stadiums, you'll never push those tubes hard enough.

  • @swanky23

It isnt an all tube amp. The front end is tube but the power section is solid state. The way the review is worded is awkward...only the channels are all tube.

I have one of these and it is a fun amp, shame that Gus bolted to Blackstar.

  • TERMINATOR 2!!

  • How about you play more stuff n speak less !

  • does anyone know if it can get a good "DOWN" sound. or a thrash metal sound?

  • Paul looks SOOO hungover in this vid LOL!!!

  • jesus christ vampire slayer I GET IT

I was correcting you on the whole They started it all thing

  • ok I was just correctin you on the whole began amps thing

  • woo they started the master volume

doesn't mean they BEGAN it all

  • dude Marshall didn't begin everything

  • get an Engl

  • wow , just found this amp today and it looks realy nice!!! i was gunna buy a bugera but i might save up for a little longer , anyone think this amp would be better then a bugera for melodic metal ??

  • I have a bugera 333xl.Even tho it does have high gain, its not enuff for my taste,Still find myself using the tube screamer in front of the amp. Also the 333xl sounds paper thin to my ears when cranked up.(Im playing thru a 1960a marshall bottom)The amp came loaded with el34 but I swapped them out for 6L6and Im still not happy. If super high gain is your thing then the bugera is NOT for you.Just my opinion.

  • lmfao no

get the Bugera, this thing is ridiculous and something that no one needs unless they're playing for all of china

  • lol yea 400wats is kinda fucking big...im lookin for an amp loud enough for my schools talent show lol have u ever played any of these amps b4?

  • dude a 100watt amp or amphead would be plenty sufficient, I mean Idk what you're in the market for man, like whats your style and sound?

  • I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with Ozzy. Can someone get that on video?

  • It's not all-tube, the Nuno amp is still the only all-tube amp randall has ever made, not counting the RM series which are kind of their own thing.

  • 'ever made' is incorrect....and the Nuno has some diodes. DOn't believe me? open one up and have a look at the cct board.

  • watch?v=RqPHLVBaE70

Just going by what a guy who works for the company says. I'll take his word over a stupid 12 year old on youtube who doesn't even play guitar. Why would I want to look in a randall anyways? They're fucking awful. I'd be better off plugging my guitar into a pig's ass and kicking it until it started singing Scar Symmetry songs.

  • I'm a whole lot older than 12 and tech for a living. I am not a big randall guy either but for what they do Randalls can fit the bill in many cases.

All tube just means that the tube ccts in the amp are all tube...it does not mean that there are no solid state elements on the signal path. The nuno is solid state before you even hit the preamp if you consider that it features solid state rectification.

  • Most amps, especially high gain ones, use solid state rectos because most people who play with gain don't want the lag in attack that tube rectos bring. If the preamp section and power section are both all-tube, then most guitarists who don't have ego problems would consider it an all-tube amp. Since those sections are where the dynamic response and overdrive lies, that's really where it matters.

  • Yes and the nuno also uses solid state components in the preamp.

  • 400 watts tube power? why? who needs that? front wedges not loud enough??

Randall is decent for a back up amp.. It's all about ENGL or Soldano for the sweet tones!

  • 400 watts allows a solid state amp to get REALLY loud without having to drive the poweramp into clipping.

  • but will anyone ever use 400 watts? i barely used 120 watt's on a solid state and that hurt my ears

  • You have no idea how I got to use Marshall. I hated on Marshall for years. I actually made it a point to never use Marshalls. I, like you, saw them as relics and that there were better amps out there. I had a Randall stack, a Dean Markley, Mesa Boogie, Fender (several different tube combos), Peavey etc. etc.. I could never get the tone I wanted. One of my friends had a Marshall Jubilee stack, and that was it I found the sound I wanted. Marshall is the shit.

  • Utah Saints have a good groove. It isn't all about guitar. It's funny how in onw post you say I am closed minded, than you hate on me for having a broad range of taste. Maybe you are closed minded.

  • Dude, I could give a rat's ass who Gus G. is, he is probable some weiner package like you.

  • Well, old Marshalls were great amps, can't say much for the newer ones though. But seriously.

  • 400w? You could fill a stadium with that one head

  • Well, I think it's probably safe to say all stadiums have decent or great PA systems, so you could probably get away playing a much smaller tube amp and mic it up. But yeah, 400w is quite a bit of power. From what I've heard though, wattage and volume don't perfectly correlate... I mean, this head has only a few tubes and an FET or something. Typically tube amps are MUCH louder than solid state ones so this is probably not extremely loud.

  • If its a hybrid amp I can see why its 400w, I thought it was all tube, which would be ludicrously loud at 400w

  • Yup, all-tube at 400w.... people would start dieing.

  • Do they even make cabs that can handle that?

  • Check out Vader cabs.

  • I guess custom would be the only way to go unless randall is making a super high watt cab for it

  • He isn't THAT old...

  • What is wrong with Utah Saints? They kick ass. Get out of the one-trick-pony frame of mind. All that metal shit will turn your head into a piss factory, but I guess you are already at that stage.

  • yes it is like t2 all the construction is the same but the voising of the amp is diffrent ;)

  • btw the powe section in this amp is not solid state its mosfet with one tube. and anyway this guy wanted to that all 3 amp chanells uses all tube preamp ;) v2 on the clean and distortion first chanell uses fully solid state ;)

  • Hey man. I am loading my shit as you go around spreading shit. You make no sense. You go on about tone and that the amp does not matter. Then you beak off about Mako amps?? You are confused.

  • You call yourself mav5150. I would infer that the 5150 is in reference to EVH, right? Eddie used Marshall on all those great albums; from I - 1984. If you can't make a Marshall sound good it is because you can not play, as simple as that.

  • Depends which Marshall. Their valve amps are killer, but the MG series is rubbish. You can buy much better solid state amps.

  • Obviously the type of Marshall makes a big difference. The budget Marshalls are not 'real Marshalls'. I have the 100 watt Vintage Modern. It sounds like Van Halen's amp from the first album. How much better can an amp get?

  • Come see me play live if you want to hear what Marshalls sound like. I have never seen you on the cucuit, you must play in the Gay Bars or some shit.

  • I played this amp. They should call the band : "Fart Wind"; because that is what it reminded me of - the thing stinks. More Randall junk. A message for all of you young guys out there: Get a Marshall, they are the shit!!!!!!!!!

  • In other words; more Randall garbage.

  • Play it Paul...We dont want to see it...WTF. Stupid video! 1 Star for wasting time.

  • 400 watts holy crap

  • i wish GuitarWorld would sometimes get things right... Firewind is not just heavy Metal.. they were first Power Metal more than heavy then from Allegiance they went Heavy and a lil less Power Metal.. but they're still a Power Metal band..

  • Sounds cool. Cranking up this baby on my neighborhood will make me a 500 dollar fine in my country, that means thart is good to use for me. Only shit is that is huge. Taking my 120-watt behringer amp. to gigs and taking it up and down the stairs at my rehearsal location already breaks my back into peices. With this thing... hell I'm gonna have to play my guitar on a weel-chair. ouch... hurts me from even thinking of it. I'll stick with my 120-watts :)

  • Looks like garbage. Get something better. Like an ENGL.

  • all of you he says that this amp provides all tube OPERATION that means unlike v2 this amp all 3 chanels simuates all tube sound and uses all tube preamp in all sections ;)

  • he sayd all tube mods...

  • Who needs more than 100 watts?

  • 400 watts, oh my.

  • Just type the name of the amp in the search bar. randall gus g 2thh.

A guy with the screen name CatagoryV

came up. 4 minutes of metal riffin between the 2 dirty channels and no talking. It was cool check it out.

  • From greece our country!!Congratz Gus G

  • 400w holy shit that would shake my house down!

  • 400W??? wtf? :D

  • he didnt even fucking try it !

  • who the hell needs 400 watts of power? if you're going into a PA, you have to lower the volume anyway

  • this thing is made 400watts becouse of the sound quality ;) you really don't need to crank it all the way .

  • yeah I see your point, it's just that a lot of tube amps sound very limited if you don't crank the volume to a certain level. in this case, it won't be that much of a problem because it's not an all tube amp. but you really have to hear and play that thing yourself, you can't judge a book by it's cover ;)

  • its an mosfet poweramp with a single tube in it.

But 400 watts is a lot, even for mosfet!

  • Basically

  • i never understood the point of these short videos, why not just do a full demo?

And yes, he said ALL TUBE!

  • because that amp is so fuckin loud it would destroy the cameras mic haha

  • its hybrid though, ive read reviews

  • He said all tube operation. and the with this operation he wanted to say that this amp simulates tube amp and all the chanell's has tube simulation unlike the v2 witch has 2od and 1 tube mode ;)

  • dude Gus G AND firewind, is about as metal as the rubber sole on my boot

  • lol i have to admit firewind are absolutely shit

  • he clearly said it was an all tube amp at around 32 seconds

  • For anyone who's too stupid to realize, it's probably solid state. Just so there's minimal comments on how loud it is.

  • 400 watts, why so much?

  • I was reffering more to how incredibly cliche and overused that line is. Especially in metal

  • It is mostly a Tube/Mosfet amp so 400 watts really is only as loud as a 120-200 watt tube amp.

    but still.

    thats to much by far.

    theres no reason for that.

if you were that amazing that you had to.

play somewhere you needed it that loud.

    you would be mic'ed.

  • 400 watts?!

  • That's way sexy, but "heaven and hell"? Seriously?

  • i demand a vid of this amp kranked and with a db meter

  • Sounds muddy.

  • because we all need a 400w head...playing an area with the volume on 1...

  • Dude that is fucking hilarious as hell!

Imagine playing a that amp at home with volume on 0.03

  • pretty much, 400w amps are for people who feel like playing for the whole population of china...every has to stand 60 miles away to keep their hearing...they would still get noise complaits from korea.

  • u know bass amps can go as high or probably higher than 600w?? thats crazy, but again they dont really have high pitch as guitars

  • on traynors standard line they go up to 800 watt

  • nice sound how much does it cost in england?

  • Generally I've seen things roughly doubled when they are sold across the pond. If you were able to find the MSRP in US dollars multiply it by two and that should give you a rough guess what it would cost in Pound Sterling.

  • Heaven and Hell - Nice touch lol

  • looks absolutely immense. I'd love to hear how it sounds :P

  • 400W?!

  • dam 400 wats thats way to much

  • Looks good, but it would've been nice to hear it

  • sweet:D

  • 4th

  • Oh yeah! Nice.
