Right, I'll clear this up. A half volley is when you kick the ball AS it bounces, it isn't always a half volley if the ball bounces though. If the ball bounces and goes up in the air and you strike it when it comes down again it isn't a half volley or if you leave it bouncing it doesn't got 1/2 volley then, 1/4, 1/8 etc you kick it when it's on the rise.
