Oh, man! I think that the whole rudder part is based on how the British took down the Bismarck in WWII--lucky shot got a torpedo lodged in her rudder and she kept going in circles, which let the RN just shell her to death.
THAT has got to be the first WWII Fanboy service I've ever seen.
