As a member of a local choral society (in the English tradition of choral singing) who has performed Rutter's Magnificat several times in the bass section of the choir, I would be proud (as choir treasurer) to have paid you for this. Rutter is NOT easy (wow, his Shepherd's Pipe Carol is far worse than this!) But then I'm thinking of the choir parts, and as I'm sure you know movement 1 is a challenge when the choir and the orchestra aren't even on the same time signature! Thanks for this.
hey theblake10 be quiet, i'd love 2 hear u try and do those solos as amazingly as her quit being such a know it all, they're young and she got chosen out of all those ppl so obviously shes good. thers a difference between critism and making yourself sound like a jerk.
I guess my only gripe with your singing is that your voice sounds too young enough, if you get what I mean. (I presume that the inaccurate notes were caused by anxiety?)
Or it could be the recording, since the sopranos and tenors sound really young too. (Why's the choir rushing all the time?)
thanks for the comments. Everyone is young because we are in college, so we are all still between the ages of 17 and 20. I am 19 years old. The 2 wrong notes were an accident, lost my focus. I don't know what happened, I normally got that part perfect in rehearsal.Yes, the choir was rushing on the triplets. No performance is ever perfect. This is only one movement out of a 7 movement work, but I think overall it went well.
Nah, it wasn't so much the triplets, it was more of the general feel of the performance. The choir seemed overeager to sing at times. But yes, overall, it was a good performance.
I presume you soloed for Et Misericordia and Gloria Patri as well?

It was wonderful, I did the same solo my senior year in high school, and I thought it was lovely, mistakes and all.
