The greatest sounding guitarists know how to melt with their ax. They feel so in touch and it resonates with the listener. Betty always melted with her voice. Got hooked on her when I bought her 1st album.
@chea943 What are you talking about? This is far from true. Modern country music is not much different from gangsta rap. The line “as long as I’m alive and breathing they won’t take my guns” could as easily have been written by Jay-Z as by Justin Moore. So the next time a conservative commentator deplores the latest pop-culture offense against style, intelligence and good morals, he needs to add the Dukes of Hazard to the indictment.

This song is more senual and sexual than anything any of the numerous hip hop whores are doing today, i.e., Lil Kim and all the rest. Betty Davis takes those bitches to school.
This is from an era when artists could be individuals...before record companies only wanted clones of Beyonce, Chirs Brown and whatever aluminum foiled-tooth rapper is popular this week. There is only ONE Betty Davis, and she's one of the best.

Awesome song! Bass player is Larry Graham, you can see him play sometime with Prince or Maceo Parker.. very good musicans, like many from the 70's area.

Not backwards. we're just used to a totally different style of music.
Today's generation (for the most part) values whats popular rather than what's of substance.
Betty came out blazin - out on the prowl, flaunting her sexuality and being proud of it.
More female artists could take a hint from Betty. drop the plastic act and come RAW.
