SOAD FTW!! (thts a lot of abbreviating..) where did you get that handle for the bar? cos im 6"5 n most of it is in my legs, so i find it hard doing deadlifts without the bar smashing into my knees :/
No offense dude but you did what 155lbs like 8-10 times for ONE set and when you finish you say "Whoo!" like that actually fatigued you??? You are obviously using wrong routine. Do this if you want MAJOR strength jumps:
2 X per week MAX. Hex bar deads. (set 1 60% of 1rm for 3-5 reps, 75% of 1rm for 3-5 reps) Work set: 100% 5 rep max 1x5. THAT'S IT! Leave at LEAST 2 days of rest between workouts. Add 5 lbs EVERY workout, then @ 5rep fail keep adding weight per workout anddo until new1RM n recycle
I wouldln't worry too much about getting technique perfect on a trap bar, it's a lot easier than the standard DL. Put some weight on and a lot of the form issues correct themselves.
Having said that the arch in your lower back seemed perhaps a little bit pronounced, i dunno tho
I'm also too tall for regular deadlifts but can sumo without problems. Trap bar is still nicer because you don't have the rotation from mixed drip with a conventional bar.
You are bouncing when you lock out at the top which may or may not go away with a heavier weight and can hurt your knees. The lockout should be a controlled squeeze. Also lift either barefooted or in hard-soled shoes -- sneakers are too unstable. I built a pair of wooden boxes to compensate for the handles -- inverting the bar may put the handles too far down if you are tall.
are you showing us how cool is these type of bars, or you're showing the technique? Well, Not all Gyms has this type of bars....use the regular bar and tell us?
Using a belt a) can make you lift more weight than you can safely handle (not good if you are not competing) and b) cheats you out of exercising your core muscles which then sets you up for injury because you end up with a weak low back and abs.

perfect technique? what in the world is there to perfect in a TRAP BAR. its dummy proof. the trap bar is for spineless whimps like yourself who cant do real deadlifts. just put up the bar and lift.

if its in ur own garage or house i'd advice to do it barefeet or with flat shoes, most deffointly not runing shoes

Hockey stick grip tape over the handles instead of rags...works MUCH better.

Get shoes without give in the bottem cushioning. Converse All-Stars or knockoffs are good.

your trap bar handles are higher than some others. if they are lower you can bent lower and get a deeper and longer movement.
