I just had it done and my experience was nothing like you described. No icky smell, no smoke, no eye sting, nothing. At my salon they first washed my hair a couple of times with a clarifying shampoo, then they blowdried it until it was almost dry (but not entirely) and then they applied the product, blow dried it again and then straightened my hair strand for strand. It was a very pleasant process, felt like pampering; nothing like the almost ginea-pig-experiment you described.

You know...I find this very sad. When I got my BKT a couple years ago, I was told it did NOT have formaldehyde in it. If I had known, I would have never, and I mean NEVER, put myself through that process of putting a carcinogen in my head and exposing me to who knows what. Yes, your hair looks nice...but at what cost? Why are *we* willing to risk our health to have straight hair? Willing to expose ourselves to cancer-causing chemicals for straight hair??? Wild.

I'm still horrified by this treatment. I will say, lady, that your hair looks gorgeous. But the fact that you say your hair feels healthier and stronger and yet you have to use a "Damage Remedy" shampoo and conditioner…DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!
