  • You and your music are timeless.

  • Thank you Cris for sharing your voice with all of us.

  • I got my copy of the 30th Anniversary Changer and the Changed yesterday and it hasnt left my car or CD changer since. I'm totally in thrall with the music and this woman.I might be 35 years late in finding Cris WIlliamson but I am so thankful I have now. She is a blessing to us all.

  • @nonijoni52 Yes...She is. Better late than never! Also My Friend... Very soon check out Olivia. Meg Christian and Cris Williamson and so many more we love will be performing in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Olivia Records. SO MANY WOMEN...Only 2,000 tickets available!

  • All I can say is "Thank You". Such beautiful music and person.

  • I first heard Cris Williamson in the mid seventies. I wish I could say that I knew immediately that she would be instrumental in giving women a voice in music. I didn't know that. All I remember was wishing I could sing like her ( I can't carry a tune ) or at the very least, play piano like her.

    marietta

by the way, I'm still wishing that

  • The power of your voice and the written words moved me greatly when I first heard your music in the 80's. Your rhythm and beauty is never ending. My ears never get tired of listening to your songs. Thank you.

  • Chris Williamson-what a wonderful journey and it's not over by far! I'm excited to sing w/ SWC, as her special guests in her Christmas Holiday concert tomorrow night. Great video of her life's work.

  • 12-5-10 Please search ...cris williamson and friends holiday concert. Music to me is more than vibrations. It is a journey and it can be a wonderful one.

  • @silverbonn My heart was bursting the day I wrote that note. We all have to start somewhere... you know!

Today I received Olivia's LF927 Cris Williamson LP. I now have everything in the Olivia and Second Wave Record Discography as well those distributed by Olivia Records. This music is timeless (without end). Isn't that something? Have a wonderful summer.

  • P.S. For give my spelling. I got a little excited about it all. The catagory says, "Who would you like to see Oprah interview." Back to grade school, me thinks :)

  • I just love Cris and the road she helped pave for Women's Music. She's "the best and all the best people know it."

I want to get Cris on the Oprah Show. She's asking fans who'd they like to see interview. So, I'm trying to get enough people to e-mail the show. Just go to Oprah.com & click on "Be on the show", then scroll down to Season 25 & click on "Who would liek to see OPrah interview." You've got 2,000 characters to convience the staff that Cris is it. Good Luck & THANKS CRIS!!

  • Damn, Cris! You are looking so good...some things don't change after all!

  • I am soo happy that I will finally get to see Cris in Ptown next week! :) She is AMAZING!

  • @oceans1006 She's going to be in PTown? Damn!! I can't make it out there. I so wanted too and now I know why. I'm so jealous of you! Have fun and give a "Woot! Woot!" to Cris for me :)

  • The 70s were a wonderful time for women's music, I think partly because there were so many difficulties and obstacles for us as women, as people of colour or us as gay women. Thanks to Cris, and to so many others including Holly Near and Alix Dobkin.

  • My older sister played Cris and Margie Adam endlessly when we shared a room and I was 12. They are the songs of my soul. They break me open and put me back together again every time I hear them. Thanks for sharing the story behind the music.

  • I can watch this over and over again, and I still find something new that I missed before. I so love Cris and her music. My only regret is that I don't know more about her.

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful video. I owe you one :)

  • My mother was a huge Cris Williamson fan as a teenager in the 70s and along with all other good tastes she set upon me, Changer and the Changed had always been a favorite. She is a brilliant songwriter and has a beautiful voice. My soul is touched every time I hear a Chris Williamson song. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to grow up with her in my ear.

  • To continue,... I lost the LP and all these years later stumbled on it here. Hearing 'waterfall' again and seeing the cover reawakened the same overpowering feelings and I just could not stop the tears..AGAIN...You have touched something in me that my ex wife never could, and I would have thought that an impossibility, and the feelings approximate those I have towards my children, the strongest emotions I've ever experienced.. Again, thank you for whatever it was that you did for me

  • I was a 25 yr old musician trapped in a full time lounge group touring upstate NY when I first heard 'waterfall' and had to stop driving to listen. I did whatever necessary to buy the LP. When I got it something inside me was shattered by the picture on the cover. When I listened to 'waterfall' again I broke down in convulsions of unstoppable tears. My heart belonged to someone, something, unreachable and I experienced heartache, loss, joy and overwhelming warmth all at once. Thank you

  • Ok in all honesty don't really know how I came across this post, but I totally love it, I could listen to you Cris for some hours more, many more. thanku for this post, you have brought a new light into my being, I shall go look for your work tomorrow on CD. Take care & keep up your beautiful work/life. All yours x

  • Hello Cris.... Just a formal apology for spelling your name wrong before. Forgive me. I admire you. 6-26-09

p.s. Very soon will correct art & wording on Tuna.

  • Thank you for this video. Grateful for chance to view and listen to Chris.

  • That voice! It was that voice that first drew me up the stairwell at the student union at San Jose State in 1976 to see Cris. The message was self evident. Love songs cross gender divisions. It could have been me singing to my girlfriend. (I Wish!) Artistry knows no assignment. Thanks Cris.

  • Thanks! I'm a gay man who's loved your music and that of other womyn singer/songwriters. Take care!

  • Thank You Chris!

I have been inspired by you since 1977...age 18!

Saw you in Syracuse, and then caught up with you & Tret at Jonathan's Olgonquit 1999

    You were Goddess sent!

  • Unreal...takes me back and keeps me moving forward. Thanks for posting. I am sad though that it appears as if Cris got cloistered in the "Women's Music" category. Bless her heart.

  • Yes, the album is a portal back ... Chris Williamson changed my life. She changed how I thought about myself and being a lesbian. She was part of the very fabric of my life. I've seen her in concert ,oh 10 plus times. Each time was magical

  • I love her and 5 love her music! she is the best

and she is such a beautiful lady.

  • Sang through the whole video the first time.. First concert i ever went to was chris at the berkely community theatre, March I think of 1981. Changed my life. I still have all of my old record albums. Love ya Chris.

  • That last messege from my suchatreasure channel was for Juneseventh. She had this vid on her channel, and I thought it was one of her tributes she's famous for. I'm glad to see you are finally on you-tube.I use to search the search engine for you when I was more active on here. If you'd put Sweet-woman up,and a link to purchase your CD's I believe you'd get a whole new generation of women enjoying your music as I did!xo SweetWoman!-Patti

  • Wow hon;I havn't been around for a while, but still can't believe I missed this! I had a radio show in the 70's and found an album by her before Olivia records existed. It had one song,"Johanna "that I used to play on my show. Then Olivia happened, and I was so thrilled not to have to search through the radio stations music library every week to find women oriented music. The changer and the changed in particular was such a trailblaiser! Wish she would make her music more available. Glad you did!xo

  • Cris, knowing how important your music has been to so many women, I hope you also know that it's been just as important to many of the straight men (like me)who've followed your career and your music. It's been a human journey. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

    John

  • i am just one of the thousands of female musicians so touched, healed, and rescued by the music of Cris Williamson. thank you so much Cris!

  • Thank you Cris Williamson, your music changed my life as well. As a young lesbian growing up in the late 60's-early 70's, I found strength to be true to myself living in a town that didn't even have a stop light, you made it easier for me as I hid your albumns under my mattress so my mother wouldn't find them. I raise my glass to you always.

  • hi chris, nice to see you're still involved in music...seeing you again feels like running into an old friend; cherished memories come flooding back, smiles mixed with tears...your music was a warm gift to my heart back then and i still felt that fire when i watched this vid...thank you for posting and for helping to make my spirit stronger by sharing yours

  • she is such a beautiful soul.

  • Chris looks wonderful, sounds wonderful. Through the years she was the one that women could reach, feel touched by. I heard she was engaging and polite. The word through the lesbian community was that Cris was not arrogant at all...

  • wow this takes me back. and it's still excellent !

  • Why is no-one talking about "Beautful Woman"?

  • PLEASE POST MORE OF YOUR/HER FABULOUS SONGS!

Sweet Woman, Tender Lady, Dream Child, and most especially WATERFALL!!!! Been listening to you/her for over 30 years...

  • Gosh Cris...ya sexy woman...so talented and you still have it going on. Proud.

  • Thank you Cris Williamson, your music changed my life. As a young lesbian, unsure and alone,Sweet Woman opened my eyes and soul to my own reality. I was a lesbian and that was OKAY!!!! I was NOT alone. Thank you, you are an incredible artist and woman. Thank you for sharing your heart with all of us young, insecure lesbians, way back when........

  • I am a gay guy and "The Changer and the Changed" was one of the most important CDs during my coming out. I love Cris!

  • Would love to see this as a free download on iTunes as well.

  • Thank you so much Cris for posting this wonderful musical commentary. I have been a lifetime admirer of your work and of your contemporaries.

I hope you will be gifting us with many more lovely videos here...also it gives many women of all ages who have not been lucky enough to discover your positive and beautiful music the opportunity to do so.

  • Right on lovely woman!!

  • Cris, thank you...thank you. Your recent performance in Berkeley, CA. in Dec. 2007 was such a moving experience for me. I am 58 and came out just 6 yrs ago and have never looked back. My first gf gave me her copy of Changer and the Changed and I have cherished it. Thank you for making my journey so amazing!

  • I'm a guy and Cris's music has also had a powerful effect on my life. We're indebted to the ladies who have cared for and nourished such wonderful, caring music.

  • you too?

  • I first listened to Changer and The Changed as an LP in 1975. I was 21. The one and only concert review I wrote brought me a fan letter, testimony, I think, to how much a portal your music was to me then, as now.

  • Fantastic!

  • Cris, and this video, are masterpieces.

Every woman needs to see this, hear her beautiful music and be inspired by her journey.

    What a gift!
