One question.. WHY did you fail to record a lap of this freaking BEAST! I was waiting for the eargasim of hearing it flat out. But that never happened... :(
Decades later it still sounds fantastic and none of the fancy electronic engine management wizardry, let alone the safety systems we take for granted in sports cars today. 246mph down the le Mans straight back in the 70's, you have to give a hats off to those drivers back then, a lot of them gave their lives.
@VoightKampffScale Sports cars of this era were required to be roadworthy hence the spare tire and passenger seat. The boss of Martini had a street reg 917! When race cars were at their finest.
Now Peter Piper picked peppers but Run rocked rhymes Humpty Dumpty fell down that's his hard time Jack B. Nimble what nimble and he was quick But Jam Master cut faster Jack's on Jay's dick Now Little Bo Peep cold lost her sheep And Rip van Winkle fell the hell asleep And Alice chillin somewhere in Wonderland Jack's servin Jill a bucket in his hand And Jam Master Jay's making out our sound The turntables might wobble but they don't fall down.. Yeah..........Everyone else can pretty much go home
@VoightKampffScale They had to be street registrable to be considered a sports car Hence the luggage compartments and passenger seat . The pinacle of sports cars in my belief.
actually there are a few road legal 917...2 or 3...i don't know how it is possible but i think that's great...run on the road with one of those 3.5 millions $ worthed monster must be pretty scary but i would do the same thing...
Awesome car, but I'll never understand some of the things post on here. Why must the only footage filmed be of you guys standing around in the pits trying to figure the car out? Why not film it on the track? Hell, above idle would be nice.
eh, you just gotta find them. You usually end up with a slick or something. goodyear actually makes some tires that could be used... pretty cheep too.
ah.. i spot a Rooftop mirror.. is this one of the porsches that was driven by Gijs van Lennep?.. he seemed to be fond of Rooftop mirrors.. the AAW Piper #18 Sandeman had one, ( he drove that one in 1970.. Chassis #21
Is this the one by any chance?, if so, you guys must have replaced the motor-cover, since Gijs' car didn't have Fins..
