It's called deathcore. There's traditional metal (Ozzy, Metallica), Nu Metal (KoRn), Death Metal (Nile, Faceless), Black Metal (Amon Amarth, Deals Death), Thrash (Machine Head, Vio-lence, Pantera), and Deathcore. Those are the main categories of metal, with Deathcore included within it.

Doom Metal is the slower, bluesier stuff. The basis of all Metal, pretty much. Black Sabbath, Pentagram or Saint Vitus.

Of course, it's not just Thrash Metal that lacks singing. Motorhead and early Venom, two of the best bands. Neither Lemmy or Cronos can sing aha.
